What is your opinion?

Fun!

"I think this might've been the darkest take on Labubu's yet. XD Really fun story, and funny, while also being sad and dark. Well, it is complex, even if it's shorter than most of your stories."

An immersive world.

"I really enjoyed this story. The mix of real-world elements with the supernatural made it feel immersive and unique. I had a feeling about Pazuzu early on, and it was very satisfying to see that unfold. The tension in the story kept me hooked, especially in the more intense chapters. I also really liked Ignis and Darius — their dynamic made the story even more engaging. Overall, a really enjoyable read. And now I can’t see a Labubu without thinking about this story 😭"

Labubu's or something else?

"Great read. The world building, like Lauren's other stories, is outstanding. With this story, she's woven real life lore into a story about Labubu's in a way that makes complete sense. The world feels tangible. The characters have depth. It's a shorter read and definitely entertaining. "

Pazuzu’s Revenge

"As always, the author provides juicy details and smart repartee to expand the shifter world. Detail orientation, precision and considerate descriptions makes the reader feel like the dunked their head in a fully fleshed out AU, not a two dimensional background. The universe has a direct impact on character development in a way that makes everything feel vivid and alive. "

Review of Pazuzu’s Revenge

"Pazuzu’s Revenge is a unique blend of romance, dark fantasy, and political satire, with a strong thread of comedy running throughout its 29 (I only read 3) chapters. While it didn’t fully align with my personal taste—I tend to gravitate more toward action-heavy and conflict-driven stories—I can still recognize the quality and intention behind the writing. The author does a solid job delivering on the tone and genre they’ve set out to create. If you enjoy satirical storytelling mixed with supernatural elements (especially were-creature dynamics), this story will likely resonate with you. It leans more into its humor and commentary than intense action, and it stays consistent in that approach. One of the standout elements for me was Yaya’s dialogue. Her comments added a lot of personality and were easily some of the moments I found myself most engaged with. That said, I think many readers may find themselves connecting more deeply with Ignis on a personal level. From a technical standpoint, the writing is good overall, though there are moments where scenes could benefit from stronger “show, don’t tell” execution to make them feel more immersive. Overall, this is a well-written story that knows its audience. If you’re looking for something humorous with a satirical edge and dark fantasy elements, Pazuzu’s Revenge is definitely worth checking out."

I Knew Something was off about Labubus!!! 😲

"I’d never heard of Labubus till Inkitt came out with the Labubu contest. Was I interested in the weird little trend? Heck no! So, when I selected the first five chapters of “Pazuzu’s Revenge,” a Labubu themed story, which also includes shifters (another genre I’m leery about) for my 2026 Green Exchange Awards judge’s review, I was hesitant to say the least. Let’s just say, I changed my tune after the first few paragraphs! 😅 Lauren has constructed an intricate, yet uberly believable world of shifters tasked with ensuring us stupid humans don’t destroy the Earth. Enter Ignis, our young, anthropologist shifter, who happens upon the latest social trend in her search for potential crossovers in the shifter vs human worlds: Labubus! While I haven’t ventured further into the book than the 1st five chapters, this is definitely a story I’ll be continuing to the end! Lauren’s writing style flows effortlessly, and the show vs tell is spot on! The characters and world building are super strong and relevant. Humor is subtle, yet hilarious. The plot is super intriguing. As a Cultural Anthropology major myself, I’m stoked by all the research and real-world associations tied into the storyline, to include bits of the Kurdish language! I’m completely invested! A few typos/grammatics, but absolutely nothing distracting. There are a lot of characters, most with non-Western names, so it did take me a minute to catch up with who was who in the first couple of chapters, but that issue seemed short lived. I hope you’ll tag along with me on this journey to discover the true roots of the Labubu! 😲 Nice work, Lauren!💖"

Labubu takes over the world!

"Who would have thought a story about Labubu could be this entertaining? The pacing is perfect, I can really feel we're building up to something big here. I love that you've really made it your own and incorporated the ugly-cute creatures into your own universe. I look forward to learning more about Ignis and her quest to find out what Pazuzu and his Labubu are up to... *** Adding to my review now this story is finished: You definitely delivered! The fight scenes are epic, the characters and their emotions feel genuine and the humour is on point. The story fits seamlessly into the shifter universe, and the ending invites you to jump into it and explore it further. Wonderful story, would absolutely recommend!"

Pazuzu's Revenge

"This is an absolutely unique twist on the usual werewolf lore. I couldn’t put the book down. Pacing was excellent and the battle scenes made sense even as Ignis slowly finds herself wearing down. In the end she prepares to give her life rather than admit defeat. But do not despair, all is not as it seems. Even the use of a foreign language by Ignis’s grandmother works in this narrative, as it is well translated in footnotes in the chapters where it occurs. It adds a sense of mystic horror along with the repetition of the phrase of he who shall not be named. The monster it refers too is truly terrifying so be warned. The chimera legend is woven into the fabric of this story and the twist at the end makes it worth every hour you will spend reading this novel. Go ahead. Turn the pages. "
