Summary

The Academy was meant to build alliances between rival clans. Instead, it’s a powder keg of grudges. No one wants peace, least of all Finlay Mackenzie. His uncle calls Orla Lynch an abomination, half-human and dangerous, better off dead than breathing the same air. Finlay swore to hate her. And he almost succeeded—until the day he looked up a library ladder and caught a glimpse of green lace knickers. Now he can’t stop himself. Every time she brushes past him, every bite of her sharp tongue, every forbidden touch in the shadows, he’s unraveling. She’s supposed to be the enemy. His clan would kill her for her blood. Yet when she smirks and taunts him, he hears his own voice snarl back: She yanked him into a narrow side classroom, the door banging shut behind them. “You arrogant bastard,” she hissed, shoving him back a step. Her eyes burned, the faint cut on her neck flushed bright against her skin. “First, you force your mouth on me, and then you cut me? My fucking neck? Do you get off on humiliating me?” Finlay’s jaw tightened. “Force? Don’t flatter yourself, Lynch. You kissed me back.” Her breath caught, fury tangling with something hotter. “I should hex you where you stand.” “You’re welcome to try.” Enemies by blood. Lovers by fire. A second chance redeption 🔥

Prologue

There shall rise a monster, born of night and scar,

Clad in flesh of mortals, yet darker by far.

He shall wear a visage both tender and grim,

And kingdoms shall falter at the shadow in him.

There shall rise a maiden, with fire in her hand,

She shall bind the darkness, she shall command.

Through love she shall temper, through will she shall bend,

And the blade she awakens shall cut to the end.

There shall march a soldier, with grief as his shield,

Through blood and through sorrow, no mercy shall yield.

He shall strike crown and kin, till the Devil lies slain,

Yet the steel that delivers shall drink of his pain.

There shall watch a seer, her silence a flame,

No prophecy spoken, yet all bears her name.

She shall weave without word, she shall shape without breath,

And her hand shall decide between ruin and death.

So monster and lover, so chosen and foe,

All bound to the fate that the old stones foreknow.

For the blade that doth save is the blade that must fall,

And love is the heaviest burden of all.

And the song shall be sung till the stars lose their flame,

The end and beginning shall mirror the same.
