An Introduction

Welcome to Grimm Fables- Aesop’s Fables Re-Imagined as Nightmares:

Thank you for embarking on this tale dearest reader...

What if Aesop’s fables were never meant to be gentle lessons for children— but warnings whispered in the dark?

In Grimm Fables, timeless tales are reborn through the lens of gothic horror. The boastful hare races not for pride but for his soul, a boy’s false alarms summon not wolves but drowned revenants, and a smooth-tongued stranger guides a village to ruin under the cloak of prosperity. From cursed carnivals to collapsing mines, from prisons gnawed hollow to palaces of gilded madness, each story twists the familiar into something darker, stranger, and infinitely more perilous.

Every tale ends with a moral. But here, the lessons cut like a knife.

Step into the fables you thought you knew. And pray you can find your way back out.

Warning to the Reader:

These tales are indeed dark and macabre. Many feature terrible deaths, unsettling endings, violence, gore, and psychological horror. If these are things that may disturb you. Please stay safe, this book may not be for you.

But if you dare....

Grab your tea and cookies, and come sit by the fire with Miss Grimm.

The Muse to the Name:

The pen name Miss Grimm was born out of friendship. Years ago, I met someone who shared my love of gothic style and dark imagination. At the time, I was her carer, but our relationship quickly grew into friendship, and we have remained friends ever since, beyond our initial dynamic. Soon after I discovered our dark horses twinned; she discovered that I wrote in this style. It was her that persuaded me—after much persistence—to share some of my early work with her (though not this particular story). She began calling me Miss Grimm, a name that felt both fitting and enduring: Grim for the shadows that inspire me, and Grimm for the stories I grew up on. The name stayed with me, and I carry it proudly. I treasure my friend Leanne who gave it to me.
