Dangerous
Hello!
My name is Hoover!, and I was traveling along on my hoverboard one day and having a jolly good time when suddenly! I saw a ghost nearby!
Now, I had not expected to see a ghost; because I didn’t even think that ghosts were real!, but here one was; and so I promptly halted my hoverboard and said, “I’ve never seen a ghost before!…
Are you new around here?…” and then the ghost said, “It’s very surprising that you can see me, because most people can’t see me…
And most people can’t hear me either, and so can you hear me?…” and then I said, I can indeed both see and hear you, my friend!…
Oh; and I’m Hoover, by the way…” and then the ghost said, “It’s nice to meet you, Hoover!; and my name is Gemma!, and I wonder if perhaps we should talk somewhere else so that people who are passing by won’t think that you’re crazy.
I mean, after all, it’s almost certain that nobody else who might pass by will be able to see and hear me.” and then I said, “That sounds good!
We can just head over to my abode and talk there if ya want to!…” and then Gemma said “Sounds good to me!…” and then the 2 of us headed over to my abode so that we could talk to each other without anybody thinking that I was crazy!…
Once we were inside of my abode, I said, “So what’s your story, Gemma?…
I mean, you’re a ghost now; but I assume that you used to have a human body?…” and then Gemma said, “Oh yes!, I did indeed have a human body before losing it and becoming a ghost, and I’m totally down to tell you what happened!…
So, I was walking through town one day, and I saw some thugs kidnapping somebody!
And so I went over to where the thugs were, pulled out my taser and pepper spray, and used my taser and pepper spray to neutralize the thugs and save the person who the thugs were trying to kidnap!…
Unfortunately though, it turned out that there were some other thugs in a nearby car who were apparently in cahoots with the thugs who I had successfully neutralized; and they pulled out guns and began shooting at me!!!
This killed me, of course, and so I was now a ghost and I saw those thugs rekidnap the person who I’d saved!…
Then the thugs took the victim into their car and drove off with him!…
I tried to follow, of course, but I wasn’t able to travel quickly enough because I was still getting used to moving around as a ghost; and, unfortunately, I didn’t think to memorize the car’s license plate number either.
Not that it would’ve necessarily done any good to memorize the license plate number, mind you; and that’s if the car even had one, which I’m not sure of.
I mean, the odds that they would’ve been trackable through a license plate number just seems unlikely to me.
But, anyway, I’ve been a ghost ever since!; and I can now fly faster than any car can travel, despite the fact that I wasn’t experienced enough to fly that quickly when I first became a ghost.” and then I said, “Well, I’ve gotta say that I’m proud of you for having been heroic like you were in that situation!
I mean, whether or not a rescue attempt succeeds, it’s still really heroic to try to rescue someone who’s being kidnapped!!” and then Gemma said, “Thanks!
And I will say that I don’t regret having attempted to save the person who was being kidnapped.
I knew that it was dangerous when I attempted it, and it was the right thing to do no matter what!…” and then I said, “Well said!
And so how long have you been a ghost for?…” and then Gemma said, “It’s been a little over a year now.
And, like, you’re the first human I’ve been able to communicate with like this!; and I’ve gotta say that I’m really glad that meeting you caused me to discover that ghosts can sometimes talk with humans!…” and then I said, “And I’m glad that we met each other too!, and you’re more than welcome to stay here at my place as often as you want to!…” and then Gemma said, “Thanks for the offer!…
And I think that, at least for now, I shall take you up on your offer and make this house my home!…”
