Summary

In a crumbling, post-apocalyptic America of 2056, Chase and his ragtag companions are caught in a deadly conflict among rival vampire factions, the militarized Future of Energy Foundation, and Khaal, an ancient warlock seeking dominion over life and death. Guided only by the cryptic vampire Zed and haunted by Chase’s eventual possession by Khaal, the group faces constant peril while a new enemy—the necromancer Narcissus—rises to exterminate vampire-kind. As they traverse a wasteland ruled by chaos, hunted by the Vampyr Empire and burdened by ignorance of their own society’s laws, Chase, Brandon, and Jeriah struggle to define their humanity within eternal darkness. Blending dystopian and dark urban fantasy, the story explores power, morality, and the blurred line between monster and survivor in a world where hope itself is an act of defiance.
