Prologue
The sleek, modern studio is bathed in cool blue light. A polished anchor, Chloe Vance sharp and impeccably dressed, sits behind a glass desk. The screen behind her displays the LANGDON INTERNATIONAL logo—a stylized ‘L’ inside a globe.
"Good evening. The Langdon name, once synonymous with old money and quiet influence, has become a fixture in our daily headlines. Tonight, we focus on the new generation steering the global powerhouse, Langdon International, and the family drama that continues to captivate the public."
The graphic behind Chloe shifts to a professional headshot of Andrea Langdon, looking confident and formidable.
"At the center of it all is Andrea Langdon. Once known primarily as the newest adopted daughter of the late Mason Langdon, Ms. Langdon has cemented her own legacy, ascending to the role of Chief Financial Officer. Analysts call her a financial wizard, the architect who navigated the company through the turbulent aftermath of the Las Vegas incident, securing its future with ruthless efficiency."
The graphic splits to show Aris Tan, a woman with a calm, calculating demeanor and a killer red dress.
"She shares the C-suite with interim CEO, Aris Tan, a longtime Langdon confidante known for his steady hand. But the question on every investor’s lips is succession. All signs point to Max Langdon, Charles' newly discovered biological son and presumed heir, being groomed for the top position.
A photo of Max, slim, handsome and smiling, appears. It’s quickly replaced by a more formal, intense photo of William Langdon.
"However, sources close to the family report a bitter power struggle with Charles Langdon’s eldest son, William, who believes his seniority and experience make him the rightful choice for CEO. The internal feud, we’re told, is reaching a boiling point."
The screen now shows a grid of photos: Jamal, Ryder, Emily, Jacob, Sophia, Kai, and Avery.
"But the boardroom isn’t the only Langdon stage. Mason Langdon’s famously large adopted brood has each carved out their own spotlight. Jamal Langdon is a Hollywood A-lister, his latest film shattering box office records as his first billion dollar picture. His brother, Ryder, has become an art world darling, his paintings selling for seven figures before the paint is even dry. Emily Langdon dominates the fashion runways from Paris to Milan."
The grid shifts to highlight Jacob and Sophia.
"Jacob and Sophia, have leveraged their family name into a streaming empire, becoming two of the most famous Twitch personalities on the platform. Ugh...and then there’s Kai."
The photo of Kai fills the screen. He looks intense, staring directly at the camera.
"Kai Langdon has found a different kind of fame, amassing a huge following as a provocative, ‘red-pilled’ men’s rights YouTuber. His controversial commentary on modern society has made him both a hero to some and a lightning rod for criticism."
The grid returns, but Avery photo is blurry and distant.
"Not all the Langdons seek the limelight, though. Avery Langdon remains the family’s great mystery. Persistent rumors of a decline in her mental health have kept her in a self-imposed seclusion, a stark contrast to her public-facing siblings."
Chloe’s expression turns more serious, almost conspiratorial. The graphic behind her changes to a grainy, long-lens photo of a man—Messiah Langdon—standing outside a sprawling, gated estate.
"And now, a ghost from the past is reportedly re-emerging. Our sources have confirmed multiple sightings of Messiah Langdon, the family member who was excommunicated a decade ago following a mysterious and explosive internal scandal with the family heads. He’s been seen frequently at Andrea Langdon’s private estate, suggesting the family’s black sheep may be welcomed back into the fold."
The graphic cuts back to the LANGDON INTERNATIONAL logo, now over a background of medical imagery and DNA strands.
"This potential reconciliation comes at a critical time. Langdon International continues to vehemently deny any wrongdoing in the catastrophic destruction of Las Vegas, maintaining the incident was a necessary, albeit tragic, containment of a greater threat. The company is pushing forward with its most ambitious project yet: a miracle drug they claim can cure any known illness. They assure the public it just needs more time in development. However, when pressed for comment, both CFO Andrea Langdon and interim CEO Aris Tan declined to speak further, leaving the world to watch, and to wonder, what the Langdon family will do next."
Chloe looks directly into the camera.
"A family of immense power, deep secrets, and now, a potential reunion. We’ll be watching. For World News Tonight, I’m Chloe Vance."
