An excellent read
"I found this story's mystery incredibly enticing. This is a story crafted with tempo in mind, so that each chapter has nice mini-cliffhangers that make the reader want more and it does a great job at that. The emphasis on the use of cliffhangers as a "glue" to the (upcoming) installments could be more polished, as the current ending seems to come abruptly and it is not entirely organic (I could give a more accurate account for this comment, but I do not want to spoil the ending to other readers). Some of the dialogues could also be tweaked into being more organic and less exposition-dumps. All things considered, I thought I would love to see books like this being published: it has strong, lovable characters, an intriguing premise and a great integration between sci-fi and fantasy."
Captivating
"I just joined Inkitt, and your story was highlighted right on the front page. I began reading it immediately, and though it took me a moment to realize that not all the characters are as humanoid as we are, I found that the surprise was pleasant, not jarring. A completely different world from the one in which we live, no paper, no pencils, but plenty of dragons and intrigue. I'll be sure to read more! UPDATE - I read this all in one sitting. I can't wait for the rest! What a cliffhanger that was, I was ready to read the next part but found that I was already at the epilogue of part one..."

"My favourite writing is the serial adventure style... a bunch of instalments that can be read at different times along the year. I think, to this end, Brian Guthrie is on to something here and I'm guessing we're going to read a lot more from where this came from. This first novel, a little slow in the start (for my taste anyways), soon picked up pace. The characters are clearly complex and well thought out which gives the story a larger feel; a sense of immense scale, like the universe it is set against. There are some pretty intense dialogs along the way also, which for me, took a little getting used to but once I got the rhythm and pace of the author I found it refreshing to go beyond the usual back-and-forth of cheaper conversations found in many novels I've read recently. I would certainly recommend this book and look forward to much more."

"This is some of the most stellar writing that I have read in the sci-fi/fantasy genre in recent years. The female characters are strong and empathetic, and the male characters are equally complex. It is easy to get wrapped up in their journeys.The story is a perfect blend of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and action that will keep you engaged from beginning to end. The only disappointment I encountered was the fact that it had to end somewhere, so I look forward to reading the upcoming novellas in the series!"

"I am not a fan of science fiction. Since a friend recommended it, I began reading with an open mind and trepidation. I was pleasantly surprised! I was hooked from the beginning.
