Episode 1: The Rise of Void

April 8th, 2026

Last season, on Lightning Striker: Vorax summons 2 strong lightning bolts at Techno, causing him to fall.

“No!” Lightning Striker yells, speeding over to catch him. Lightning Striker tries to catch him, but Vorax’s lightning bolt was too powerful, making the fall faster than his run.

Lightning Striker watches in slow-mo as Techno hits the ground with a thud.

“Techno! Wake up, please. Andrew.” Lightning Striker takes off Andrew’s goggles.

“You will pay for that,” Lightning Striker says, in his dark voice, genuinely scaring Vorax.

James raises his fist, and activates his lightning on it, charging up all his strength and power into this one punch. He lightning-punches Vorax in the chest with all his might, instantly killing him. “I told you, you’ll pay for that,” James says.

“Time for phase 2,” Felix says to himself. His eyes then glow purple, and a purple aura disperses from him. “The rise of Felix - or…” His voice darkens. “The Void.”

Now

James is sitting on his couch, in his apartment, still thinking about Andrew’s death. He’s silent, and just staring at his wall. He hasn’t shown himself as Lightning Striker since Andrew’s death.

James is sitting at Andrew’s funeral, in a suit, and he’s completely silent. His eyes look soulless, and some people notice. They just don’t realize, most of the emotion is guilt, for not being fast enough to save him.

Now

James still has the same soulless look in his eyes, his mind still focused on the one moment of Andrew falling to the ground, the sickening sound of the thud of his body landing on the ground. He memorizes every detail exactly as it was. Every breath, every blink, every step, and every second.

His tv suddenly crackles on, and in the tv is a man, with glowing black eyes, and his body is surrounded by a darkness, and a black aura surrounds him as well.

“Hello, people of Parkland City,” The man says, his voice deep and dark. “I am The Void. And I will bring this city to its knees. Unless… Lightning Striker fights me. I know, he hasn’t been seen in 5 months, but trust me. He will be back. Meet me at Portvil Avenue and 4th in 10 minutes, Lightning Striker.”

James stares at the tv, not wanting to go back to being Lightning Striker but he knows that he has to. He looks over at the counter by his door, where a briefcase is. He stands up, and goes to it. He places the briefcase on the counter, and opens it, revealing his Lightning Striker suit. He smirks, and grabs the suit.

Lightning Striker speeds in the road, where The Void is, 10 minutes after the tv incident.

“Okay, ‘Void’,” Lightning Striker says. “How’s this fight gonna go?”

“Greetings,” Void says, his voice still deep and dark. “The fight? Let’s just say… I used to work for Vorax.”

“And I killed him. So, what, are you here for revenge?”

“No. Phase 2.”

“He wanted to get killed?”

“Something along the lines of that.”

“Why?”

“To find that out, you have to defeat me first!”

The Void shoots a black ball with white stars at Lightning Striker, but he dodges. The ball hits the ground, affecting it. It turns to literal void. Lightning Striker’s eyes open wide in shock, as that could’ve just happened to him. He looks at The Void, and shoots a lightning bolt at him. The Void easily catches the lightning bolt with a ball of void, and affects the lightning bolt, and throws the void lightning bolt back at Lightning Striker. It hits him, sending him 6 feet away.

Lightning Striker struggles to stand, as the chest piece of his suit starts turning into void, but his lightning is visibly fighting off the effects, giving Lightning Striker an upperhand. Lightning Striker summons 4 lightning bolts from the sky right on The Void, all at the same time, making Void collapse to the ground in pain.

Void stands up, and rapid-fires void balls at Lightning Striker. Lightning Striker speeds forward, easily dodging each void ball with his incredible speed. He jumps in the air, and shoots two lightning bolts at Void at the same time, knocking Void back into the building behind him, with no serious damage to the building. Void looks at Lightning Striker, and smirks. His eyes suddenly glow purple, and his black aura is now also purple.

Void steps outside the building through the hole he got knocked into, and then fies into the sky, about 4 stories up, and releases a surge of purple void energy, shutting the power off in the entire city, and a couple miles past the outskirts of the city.

He looks at Lightning Striker, and creates a giant void-ball between his hands, and throws it at Lightning Striker. But suddenly, and accidentally Lightning Striker generates a lightning-wall in front of the void-ball, instantly vaporizing the void-ball. Both Lightning Striker and Void look shocked and surprised. But, Lightning Striker also looks confused.

“How the hell did I do that?” Lightning Striker asks himself, looking at his own hands in awe.

“I was gonna ask you the same question,” Void says, his voice deep, and dark.

“Enough chit-chat,” Lightning Striker says. “Let’s dance.”

Lightning Striker shoots a lightning bolt at Void, but Void catches it with his bare hand, and absorbs the energy, shooting it back as a void-beam. Lightning Striker smirks, and catches the void beam with his hand electrified, and shoots the beam back. It catches Void off guard so much, he barely notices the beam, and it hits him, sending him backwards by a few miles. He lands in the center of Central Park, where Lightning Striker already is.

“How are you already here?” Void asks, genuinely confused.

“I’m just that fast,” Lightning Striker responds. “Either way, you might as well back down. I’m gonna defeat you no matter what. Just like I did to good ol’ Vorax.”

“Don’t say his name like that.”

“Sorry, what? I couldn’t hear over the sweet joy of victory.”

“Kick his ass, Lightning Striker!” A civilian yells out from the sidewalk across the street.

“Oh, I will,” Lightning Striker says arrogantly.

But then, Void flashbangs the entire city block with a huge surge of void-energy. He then punches Lightning Striker in the face as hard as he can, and then grabs Lightning Striker by the throat, and throws him into the building behind him with so much force, Lightning Striker flies through the building, and then the building behind that building, before losing momentum and just barely crashing into the 3rd building, and falling to the floor.

Lightning Striker stands up, his eyes still adjusting from the flashbang. Void then flies over and lands right in front of Lightning Striker. He can still barely see, but thanks to Void’s purple aura and glowing eyes, he easily lightning-punches Void in the face as hard as he can. His body then covers his eyes with lightning, fixing his vision instantly, and then uncovers it.

Lightning Striker speeds away, to the base. He sits in the chair, pulls his cowl up and back, and takes his gloves off, setting them on the desk. He looks around, taking in the familiar sights of the base, as he hasn’t been in there in 4 months. He sees cobwebs and rats in most places, so he speeds around the entire base, cleaning it up. After pretty much 10 seconds, the base looks good as new.

He takes the suit off, and changes into normal clothes. He sits on the chair, and rolls to the computers. He launches something that he and Andrew were working on before Andrew died - their own satellite. He then uses the satellite to track for Void’s ‘void’ signature anywhere in the entire world. It almost instantly catches the signature at Vorax’s old base.

“So they’re still set up there. Good to know,” James says to himself.

As he looks around, he suddenly realizes, his powers heal wounds. He speeds to the cemetery and digs up Andrew’s grave. He touches Andrew’s forearm with his electrified hand, which jerks Andrew’s body, also giving his body color again. His eyes shoot open.

“Welcome back, Andrew,” James says, smirking.

“Nice,” Andrew says, smiling.

James speeds him to the base. Andrew looks around.

“So,” James says. “If you don’t mind me asking… What’s it like being dead?”

“Empty,” Andrew responds, coldly. “I felt the pain, hitting the ground. But then it was gone. I was in a void of space. It felt like an eternity of nothing. I was just there. Floating in the endless void of death. That’s what I called it - The Endless Void of Death. After being there for a while, you go insane. But seeing you, it gave me hope. I heard my funeral. I heard everything. Right before I died, I saw every good moment of my life flashing before my eyes.”

“Wow. That’s…”

“Yeah, it’s deep, I know.”

“Well. For now, we have another big bad. I killed Vorax right after your death, and as of 20 minutes ago, a man who worked for him is taking over. He calls himself The Void.”

“The Void? Does he have glowing purple eyes, with a purple aura? But sometimes it’s black instead of purple?”

“Yeah, how’d you know?”

“Where is he?”

“I have a signature tracker. He’s at Vorax’s old base. But why?”

“Where’s my suit?”

“I’m not telling you until you answer - why?”

Andrew sighs. “Fine.”

Void is sitting in his base, smirking. He knows that he’s won already. But what he doesn’t know - Andrew’s back, and ready to give him void.

Suddenly, Techno bursts through the door of the base, and shoots a soundwave beam straight at Void’s head, clearly giving him massive pain. But then, Void shoots a void-ball at techno, affecting him. Techno’s skin suddenly turns to void, and so do his clothes(and his suit). His eyes glow purple, and he’s surrounded by a purple aura.

“Welcome, Andrew,” Void says. “To the Void Army.”

Andrew nods, and says, “Thank you, sir. It’s a pleasure to be here.”

James sees that there’s now two Void signatures on the computer. He’s confused, and then his facial expression turns to realization. He speeds into his suit, and to Void’s base. He gets there pretty much instantly, and sees Techno corrupted by Void Energy, his eyes glowing purple and a purple aura surrounding him.

“Techno?” Lightning Striker asks cautiously, slowly stepping forward. “You okay, buddy?”

“Hello, Lightning Striker,” Corrupted Techno says, in a dark, chilling voice. “Ready to join the Void Army?”

“Void Army?” Lightning Striker asks. “Techno, you can’t be serious. Please tell me you’re still in there.”

“The Andrew Schrewd that you know and love is no longer,” Void says, in his deep and dark voice.

“What the hell did you do to him?” Lightning Striker says.

“Let’s just say… I enlightened him,” Void says. “Gave him a new perspective on everything.”

“I’m not letting you corrupt me with your… Void Energy,” Lightning Striker says.

“That’s a shame,” Void says. “We could’ve had so much fun. Techno, attack!”

Suddenly, Lightning Striker sees everything as frozen. He looks around, and nothing’s moving. In the outskirts of his vision, he says a faint glow of blue, wherever he looks. He speeds to the base, grabs two power-dampening cuffs, and speeds back to Void’s base. He cuffs Corrupted Techno, but then time is normal again. Void sees, and shoots a Void-Blast at Lightning Striker, knocking him out instantly. The shockwave knocks Techno back into the wall, knocking him out as well.
