“No.” Jacob gives a strangled plea from the large glass cell set up in the middle of the warehouse.

He is tied to a chair and there is a clock on the wall running down with only three minutes left. His hands are bloodied from trying to untie the knots on the ropes. As the time ticks down his movements and pleas become frantic.

There are hundreds gathered in the room and they mill about drinking, gossiping, waiting in anticipation for the real show to begin. Only a complete psychopath would look forward to what’s coming.

“Tic tock, Jacob.” The boss smirks, tapping on the glass. What a sick fuck he is for coming up with this elaborate torture/suicide technique.

I can’t believe this is my life now.

But I don’t regret it.

If I had to do it over again, I would. The money I got paid to join the mafia funded my baby sister’s cancer trial. She’s alive today and that’s all that matters.

The time hits zero and the boss motions with his finger and a naked girl with a sac over her head is ushered over. She is pushed into the cell with Jacob and his cries are amplified. He knows what’s coming, we all do because we are forced to watch these punishment sessions several times a year.

I hate every second of it. It will rob me of my sleep for days, but I can’t show weakness and look away or I could end up in Jacob’s position.

When I joined the mafia, I knew enough to shield my family. As far as the mafia is concerned, my sister died of cancer and my parents passed in a car accident. My computer skills seem to have worked because no one has questioned the fake online life I created.

The boss has some fucked up rule that it has to be a blood relative. I have no clue why he leaves spouses and partners alone, but he does.

“No.” Jacobs pleads again. The boss only smiles, a cold, cruel, calculated smile that is a warning to everyone in this room. Jacob is accused of stealing some drugs. Whether he did it or not, I don’t know. Jacob won’t get a day in court.

My eyes look up to see the sign, each rule is engrained in my memory.

Respect the hierarchy.

Snitches are silenced.

No stealing. I will find out.

Initiation into the family is permanent.

Don’t touch my daughter.

The last one is easy to abide by, the boss never brings his daughter around. Besides who would go anywhere near his daughter. I can’t imagine having him as your father-in-law.

They remove the hood, and I slow my breathing. Jesus Christ, this girl can’t be over 15. She frantically looks throughout the room and tears stream down Jacob’s face when his eyes focus on his daughter. He continues to try to get his hands free but is making little progress. There is a gun in the room and as soon as he frees himself and commits suicide, it all stops.

The girl has no where to go in the glass cell. It’s probably only ten feet by ten. It doesn’t have a roof on it, and I guarantee it’s so her screams aren’t muffled. She pleads with Jacob to explain what is going on and all he does is repeatedly apologize between sobs.

Five men enter the room with Jacob and her.

She tries to move away from them, but they quickly corner her.

The sick fucks grin while they remove their own clothing. They aren’t the only ones smiling. Men on the outside of the glass move closer to get a better view. They pound on the walls, encouraging the men inside.

I control my breathing, pushing down the vomit rising in my throat. One day the boss will be killed, and I will be free from this life.

For the next half an hour the men do unspeakable things to her. Strike that, they aren’t men, they’re animals. Savage beasts who force Jacob to watch his daughter raped until she’s unconscious. And even that doesn’t stop them.

Finally, Jacob gets out of the ropes and shoots himself in the head, ending it all. Her limp body is dragged out and hookers are brought in shortly after. In no time, it’s a fucking orgy. What kind of sick fuck would you have to be to consider pedophilia rape foreplay?

This is my life.

But my sister is alive.

That single thought will get me through this.
