Summary

One cramped dorm. Three unwelcome guests. Two very blurred lines. Alejandra's sophomore year was supposed to be about focus, late-night study sessions, and finally having her own space. But when a massive gas leak turns her twin brother Alejandro's apartment building into a hazard zone, her sanctuary is invaded. Alejandro doesn't just ask for a place to crash-he moves himself and his two best friends, Elijah and Matthew, into Alejandra's tiny dorm room. The arrangement is a disaster from day one. Alejandra is beyond pissed; her privacy is gone, and her brother is as overprotective as ever. On the other side of the room, Elijah and Matthew aren't thrilled either. To them, Alejandra was just the "annoying twin sister"-a girl who would surely ruin their vibe and bring unwanted drama. But the girl they remembered isn't the woman standing in front of them. As the days bleed into nights, the narrow walls of the dorm begin to close in. The initial annoyance transforms into a heavy, suffocating heat that none of them can escape. Between the whispered conversations in the dark and the accidental brushes in the hallway, the boundary between "roommate" and "obsession" begins to disappear. Alejandra came into this hating the intrusion, but as she finds herself caught between Elijah's dark intensity and Matthew's magnetic pull, she realizes that some fires are impossible to put out-es

Alejandra

The air in my dorm room was thick, smelling of Ryan's expensive cologne and the desperate, frantic heat of a mistake in progress. I had him shoved against my desk, my fingers tangled in his hair as he crowded into my space. This was supposed to be my sanctuary—the one place where I didn't have to be "Alejandro's sister" or the "perfect student."

I knew better. I knew Ryan had a girlfriend two floors down who thought he was at the library. But as his hands slid under my shirt, gripping my waist with a bruising pressure, my conscience was drowned out by the sheer thrill of being wanted.

"Alejandra," he breathed against my neck, his lips trailing fire toward my jawline. He sounded wrecked, his composure crumbling with every second my teeth grazed his skin.

I pulled back just enough to look at him, my breath hitching. His eyes were dark, clouded with a hunger that felt both validating and dangerous. I shouldn't have been doing this, but the rebellion tasted better than any late-night caffeine fix. I leaned back in, deepening the kiss, my tongue clashing with his as the world outside the four walls of my room ceased to exist.

He let out a low, guttural groan, lifting me easily to seat me on the edge of the desk. Papers slid to the floor, forgotten. He pushed between my knees, his forehead leaning against mine as we both fought for air.

"God," he rasped, his voice vibrating against my lips, "you're so much better than her."

The words should have been a red flag. Instead, they felt like a match struck in a dark room. I didn't want to be "good"; I wanted to be the distraction he couldn't live without. I reached for the hem of his shirt, ready to pull him closer, when a heavy, rhythmic pounding started at my door.

The praise was a spark, but the shift in power was the gasoline. Before I could process the words "better than her," Ryan's hands were on my shoulders, spinning me around with a sudden, jarring strength that made my heart lurch into my throat.

He didn't just move me; he commanded the space. He shoved me forward until my chest hit the cool, hard surface of my desk, pinning me down with the weight of his body. The sudden friction of the wood against my skin and the heavy pressure of his hand at the small of my back made my breath catch in a ragged gasp. I loved a dominant man—loved the way it felt to be completely overtaken, to have the choice of where to move stripped away in an instant.

"Stay right there," he growled into my ear, his teeth grazing my lobe.

This was so much hotter. Being controlled felt like a release, a way to switch off my brain and let my body take over. I arched my back instinctively, leaning into his touch, my fingers curling around the edge of the desk as the heat between us reached a breaking point.

The pressure of his body was a heavy, intoxicating weight against my spine. With my face pressed toward the mahogany surface of my desk, my senses were dialed into the friction of his denim against my thighs and the ragged edge of his breathing. Ryan's hand shifted from the small of my back, his fingers hooking into the waistband of my shorts. He didn't rush. He moved with a slow, agonizing deliberation that made my skin prickle with anticipation.

"Look at you," he murmured, his voice a low, gravelly vibration that settled deep in my bones. "So perfectly still for me. Such a good girl, Alejandra."

The praise hit like a physical blow, sending a wave of heat straight to my core. I leaned into the desk, my fingers white-knuckled as they gripped the edge. Every time he tugged the fabric lower, exposing an inch of skin to the cool air of the dorm, a soft whimper escaped me. I didn't care about the risk anymore. I didn't care about the girl he was supposed to be with. All I wanted was the crushing force of his dominance to drown out the rest of the world.

"You like being told what to do, don't you?" he prompted, his breath hot against the back of my neck. He eased the shorts down past my hips, his palms skimming over my curves with a possessive rhythm. "You're so much more responsive than she ever is. So much hungrier."

My head lightened, my thoughts spiraling into a haze of pure, unadulterated need. The friction, the praise, the way he held me pinned like I was something he owned—it was too much and not enough. I couldn't wait another second.

"Please," I gasped, the word broken and desperate as I arched my back against him, seeking the friction I craved. "Please fuck me, Ryan. Right now."

He let out a dark, triumphant chuckle, his hand tightening its grip as he prepared to bridge the final gap between us.

The world shattered with three heavy, authoritative raps against the wood of my door.

The sound was like a bucket of ice water. We both froze instantly, the air in the room turning stagnant and cold. My heart hammered against my ribs—not with heat this time, but with a sharp, jagged panic. Ryan's chest was still heaving against my back, but the rhythm had changed from lust to alarm.

"Are you expecting someone?" he whispered roughly, his voice thick with interrupted adrenaline. He didn't move away yet, his hands still hovering near the hem of my displaced shorts, but the spell was completely broken.

I scrambled to my feet, my face flushed with a mix of arousal and pure irritation. I grabbed the waistband of my shorts and yanked them back into place, smoothing my shirt with trembling hands. "No, I'm not," I snapped, the annoyance bleeding through. My sanctuary was being invaded at the worst possible moment. "Just stay here. I'll see who it is."

"I'll answer it," Ryan countered, his ego clearly bruised by the interruption. He didn't even reach for his shirt; he just strode toward the door, looking every bit the dominant man he'd been playing seconds ago—shirtless, muscles taut, and radiating an aggressive energy.

He gripped the handle and swung the door open with a jerk. I stood by the desk, crossing my arms, waiting to yell at whatever floor-mate had the audacity to ruin my night. But the second the door cracked open, Ryan's entire posture changed.

He didn't say a word. He just froze, his hand tightening on the doorknob until his knuckles turned white. From my angle, I couldn't see who was standing in the hallway, but the look on Ryan's face was unrecognizable. He didn't look dominant anymore; he looked upset, his brow furrowed in a mix of confusion and mounting dread.

The silence from the hallway was deafening, heavy with a weight I didn't understand yet.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
