new earth

There was very little warning that a nuke would be dropped. The one nuke, Jericho III, of which has been known for years to be able to wipe out billions, and it did just that. Other planets around just saw a bright light for a second. Before the sound wave was seen going around earth and then the puff of the cloud. They didn’t even have time to comprehend what had happened, by the time they had worked it out, it was far too late.

For years after that, they had watched earth suffer through many fire storms, much more flooding, and animals going through painful mutations to survive the current living conditions. Winds that would pull the remaining pieces of houses apart, bridges collapsing to rot, other too fires and more flooding. By the time things started to die down, no one dared to move to earth, not just yet. They waited for the earth to heal, something that the humans failed to do.

They watched from afar as animals, mutated of course slowly make their ways back into the cities, the green life start to climb the same buildings in those cities as rain starts to fall again, not acid or fire, water rain., the fire storms dying down as the water re-hydrate’s the earth, the wind slowing down as the tree’s grab back one by one, and the ozone layers, healing on it’s own. It was beautiful to watch.

When earth became stable, they all came together for a meeting. They acknowledged that the remaining humans, if there is any left are likely still in the bunkers, and with that being the case they won’t be the healthiest. On top of that, would anything human related or anything non-human related hurt the other? Humans are known for surviving through the black plague, COVID-19, and even the flu with the chicken pocks while everyone else has Virus X, something that, like COVID, wiped out millions of their own.

The meeting room in the grand ship is large, the main window covering an entire wall, half of a circle, the world of earth visible with the computer system marking out old cities that was once capital cities while trying to mark down the old borders. Of course, the new leaders mean new borders will be put in place. Along with new country names, too.

In the centre of the room, a table with the first five leaders. All sat behind a name tag and all the different origins. At the bottom of the table, two females who freshly turned twenty.

Light blue skin, three eyes, two dots on the side of her head for ears, two arms of which hold two hands each that have four fingers on each, her body and legs, long, and skinny.

Across from her, her fellow friend of her age, Dark red skin, one eye, pointy ears and four arms with only one hand on each but both carrying six fingers on each, her body also long and slim but having four legs.

Next to her a male, older, bulkier, but with neon green skin, teeth that stick out from the top and bottom jaw, four eyes that are pitch black and floppy ears, one right are, his left showing signs of stitches and a bandage wrapped around it, shoulder and part of his chest.

The one across from him, a female, older and yet she doesn’t look a day over 25, dark pink skin, with light pink eyes, two of them that are glowing, a mouth sewed shut, dragon wings on her back that has visible holes in them, four arms with a month on each of them and two legs and two feet.

And the one at the head of the table, an elder male, whose skin is a mix of silver and gold. His eyes fully white. Two wings the now drag behind him on the ground, but once that clearly used to hold them self high above him as he walked and would fly him thousands of miles through the sky. But now, age has gotten to him and his wings.

They watch the screens as the computers work their magic, On the right side of the screen the plans of who owns what land for the time being, they know the remaining humans won’t be accepting but concurrently they know earth will just be harmed again if humans are back into rule. It’s also no secret that by the time other planets get word of the situation it’s only a matter of time until they demand a portion of the land.

“Most of Australia, the only state affected is most of Western Australia and a small bit of Northern Territory, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Peru, Mexico, Half of Colombia, Argentina, Chile and some of Brazil with Bolivia is unaffected with the states from United States of America: most of California, Most of Nevada, Arizona, Most of New Mexico, and Half of Texas. We have choices to pick from.”

The senior alien says as the computer systems highlights those parts, the map on the right working to change the borders to suit the five of them right now. The one of the lap appears and starts to scan the unaffected areas for any bunkers and for human life within them. They know if there is any they will have to keep them away from the radiation areas and the borders to prevent sickness—that’s only later on, the chance of them being unwell in those bunkers is high on it’s own—But watching the computers work and the news just waiting to break.

They still need to hear back from their own people who landed on earth to help find the bunkers and help rebuild the closet hospital to isolate all humans found. They still have so much to do they haven’t felt this much stress before. There is sadly more to come too, with illness, weakness, and so much more within the humans. From scans other planets, the ones known as ‘One Percent’ seemed to have escaped earth before Jericho III went off, and they terraformed mars, those ones there are now living peacefully. But even that move displaced many alien races. They were okay with the rover, but people? They proved those propaganda movies right, humans would do anything to get their own way, even displacing people from their own homes.

And yet here they are, wanting to take over earth and give those left a second chance. It’s ironic, they are helping the same group of people that harmed earth and mars. The same group of people that couldn’t even keep their planet healthy they will give a second chance, and those movies that portray them in a bad light, brain washing, and much more, E.T is the only one they love due to how close it it to portraying them in the correct manor.

“I hear by state that I want Papua New Guinea and the unaffected area of Brazil, I hear by name it Iyrin,”

The senior alien says, he never was one for much, but the land he picked they all know he will built his empire on and show off his riches. On top of that, he will treat his land and those on it like his babies. He might be scary to everyone, he certainly looks the part but everyone in this room right now know his heart is just a fluffy teddy bear.

“Can I Have Mexico and California?”

“You may”

The senior alien tells the one to his left before looking to the one on his right, waiting for his choices, soon his eyes go to the young females are the end. The red alien goes first, clearing her throat before looking at the map as the new borders are slowly put in by the computer.

“If it is okay that both of us want Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore-”

“But Singapore is affected, unless you mean once it’s more safer?”

“Yes, Once it’s more safer we wish to have it as well. Our shared lands will be named Asosa-Osesa,”

“Right, that leaves you with the rest, do you have a name?”

The senior alien asks the one to his right that has yet to say a word, but he nods before whispering: Ki’Yocsen. They watch as the final list is shown on screen, showing the strongest to the weakest:

Iyrin

Ki’Yocsen

Sirie

Asosa-Osesa

A clear sign of which countries need the most protection, the younger ones know it was coming to this, they know they are the ones most at risk of being attacked, same with the one next to the younger one with red skin, the now owner of Sirie Country. But the both of them know she has a bit more power than them, after all they already have some type of pre-built army, they just don’t. But it doesn’t mean they haven’t made plans, they just need the people to put it in motion.

Reynara: The story itself is great; I really like Aeris, and the setting is also incredibly exciting. The other characters aren't explored very much, though.I had a hard time with the writing style—there are a lot of choppy sentences and repetitions, which makes it hard to read smoothly.
