Close to the distant star
Once upon a time, in Cat City, there lived a happy family. They weren’t ordinary humans. They were cat hybrids, able to transform into cats whenever they wished. The family consisted of Cassandra and Cuthbert, and their daughters, Cato and Cata.
Cato was one year older than her sister and resembled her parents the most. She had white fur, black hair, and a soft blonde streak, marking her as a rare white calico. Cassandra had elegant white hair, matching her white cat form, while Cuthbert had black hair with a unique orange mark near his eye, reflecting his black calico form.
Cata, however, was different. She had white fur, purple hair, and deep green eyes. From the moment she was born, her parents knew she was special.
Cassandra and Cuthbert were both warriors, protectors of Cat City. They bravely defended it against the wolves who constantly threatened their home. But one day, everything changed when Cuthbert died in battle.
The loss shattered the family, filling their home with grief and silence.
Not long after, Cassandra was called to join a great war against Wolf City, but she had no one to take care of her daughters. With a heavy heart, she chose the best orphanage she could find, one recommended by someone she trusted. There was a kind caretaker there, but the manager was known to be harsh.
Cassandra didn’t know how to explain the situation to her daughters, so painfully, she didn’t.
She left them at the door, promising she would come back soon.
Before leaving, she handed Cato a note explaining everything. It spoke about the war, her absence, and the heartbreaking decision that the girls would be allowed to be adopted when Cato turned 9 and Cata turned 8, in year 7102
And just like that, she was gone.
Life in the orphanage was difficult. Most of the children there had stories just like theirs, stories of loss.
One of them was a five year old girl named Fluffy. She was very sensitive and cried often because she missed her mother deeply.
Cato couldn’t stand seeing her like that, so she created a small world for her.
They would roleplay together, with Cato as the mother, Fluffy as the daughter, and Cata as the older sister. Their friends joined in too. Jack played the father, and Emma acted as the aunt.
It wasn’t real, but it made the pain a little easier to bear.
Despite everything, Cato tried her best to stay strong. She hid her sadness behind small moments of joy while holding tightly onto one dream. She wanted to become a warrior just like her parents.
Cata, on the other hand, wasn’t interested in fighting.
While Cato trained with determination, practicing her claw skills with a girl named Aurora, Cata stayed away from that path.
Aurora acted kind, but deep down she was jealous, because Cato was simply better.
Years passed, and Cato turned 10 while Cata turned 9.
By then, they understood why their mother had left.
But they never stopped hoping she would return.
One day, everything changed again when a woman named Liona, tired of the constant wolf attacks, decided to form a powerful warrior team.
She searched everywhere for talented fighters, and her team would be called The Warriors’ Comeback, also known as TWC.
Eventually, she arrived at the orphanage and asked if there were any strong children aged 10 or older.
Two names were suggested, Aurora and Cato.
Aurora overheard everything, and her heart burned with jealousy. She wanted to be chosen, only her.
Meanwhile, Cato felt a spark of hope. This was her dream.
Days later, the decision was made, and Liona chose Cato.
Aurora was furious.
Cato felt a mix of emotions. She was happy because this was everything she had ever wanted, but she was also heartbroken because none of her friends, not even Cata, could come with her.
She wanted to say something. She wanted to ask if she could stay with them.
But the words never came out.
And just like that, she was taken away.
Back at the orphanage, everything fell apart.
Cata and the others were devastated. To them, it felt like Cato had chosen to leave them behind, and they couldn’t forgive her.
Aurora, consumed by jealousy, silently wished for Cato’s failure.
Meanwhile, Cato entered a new world.
Her new team consisted of Tyger, a powerful tiger hybrid, Cheetaro, fast and sharp like a cheetah, Suzy, a skilled lynx, and Katherine, a cat hybrid who strangely resembled Cato.
At first, Cato was shy and unsure.
But slowly, she began to adapt.
Liona trained them intensely, believing that starting young would shape them into the strongest warriors.
They trained hard.
They improved.
They grew stronger.
And soon, they were ready for the battles ahead.
But what will happen next?
