PROLOGUE
In the Wild West of the mid and late 1800’s there were outlaws, and outlaw gangs that roamed the open territories of New Mexico and Arizona, robbing banks and trains, annoying citizens, and generally creating havoc. There were lawmen chasing them, tracking them, and either killing them or bringing them to justice.
Amongst the mayhem and chaos of that time there appeared a couple of unlikely characters whose sworn purpose was to track down bad guys, and deliver them into the hands of the law. They were lacking the necessary talents, and skills, to execute their purpose successfully, but that did not deter them. Their adventures in crime fighting resulted in near misses, failures, and embarrassments. It was not a lack of trying, or desire that foiled them; they were just unlucky, and inept.
One was a young man short of stature, and the other a tall unusual Indian. Herman Willard Muhlendork and Stumbling O’Buffalo stagger and blunder their way to disappointment after disappointment. But, it finally pays off.
This is an old west tale.
