Chapter 1: A HOLLOW BARK
The Epigraph
"The loudest silence is watching the eyes that are your entire world, shine while looking at someone else's sky."
"What does the light outside matter when your soul is this dark? I went blind in your light, while you never even saw me in my darkness."
"The distance between us wasn't miles; it was that single millimeter where your eyes sparkled for someone else. I drowned in that gap."
"I thought love was a prayer; it turned out to be a silent grave I dug with my own hands. Now, I stand by that grave, waiting for the prayers you'll never say."
"My heart is like this frozen manor; its rooms are empty, its halls are cold... But the cruelest part is still hoping to hear your footsteps behind every door."
"I shouted your name into the hollow halls, but the only answer was the frost on the windows, mocking my warmth."
DREAMY
"Once more, I saw you in perfect light,
I lost myself within the dream so bright.
In every thought, I placed you by my side,
How could I know your heart was occupied?"
THE BLUE SCARK
"Was I so flawed? Perhaps in your sight, I was.
But is that a reason for this hollow loss?
I could never explain it to your eyes of blue,
Or maybe it’d be me, the one holding you."
A BITTER MARK
"I longed to drown within your eyes,
More than the world, more than the skies.
But you were gone, the light was through,
There was no 'us', there was no you."
"Like the living dead, my days went by,
I failed to live, while you were by his side.
Your velvet eyes, now his to keep,
Like a silent statue, I could only weep."
A HOLLOW MARK
"The sun would refuse to rise without your grace,
Lost in the shadows, I’d haunt this hollow space.
The lights would fade, leaving me for dead,
Was I insane, or was I losing my head?"
