Introduction

Logan Hayes takes a job as the college wrestling team’s assistant manager, expecting early mornings, spreadsheets, and staying out of the way of a locker room full of straight, built athletes.

What he doesn’t expect is Coach Grayson.

Older, intense, recently divorced, and completely in control… at least on the surface.

The first crack shows during a routine demonstration that lingers a little too long. Then come the late-night sessions. Film reviews that turn into something else. Closed doors. Heavy silence. Hands that don’t move away fast enough.

Grayson never acknowledges it. He brushes everything off, keeps his voice steady, his tone professional, like nothing is happening.

Like he’s still the same straight coach.

But the tension keeps building anyway.

Private training turns into private sessions. A shoulder rub becomes something harder to ignore. A sauna night crosses a line neither of them planned to cross… and definitely shouldn’t have.

Still, Grayson insists it means nothing.

Just stress. Just release. Just “bro stuff.”

Logan knows that’s not true.

Because the more time they spend alone, the more control slips. The more Grayson gives in, then pulls back, caught between what he wants and what he refuses to admit.

And with road trips, shared spaces, and too many moments where it’s just the two of them— denial starts to look a lot like desire.
