The Beginning
“Bitch”
“Fat slut”
“Ugly”
“Whore”
These were the words said to Hayley by her pack members; her supposed called family, but the word “fat” or “slut” doesn’t even relate because how can someone who eats once a day be fat , so “how the living hell am I fat?” She asks herself everyday.
Hayley’s pack members once loved her but when she turned 13 and she didn’t change into a wolf, all their love turned to hatred, her nightmare was the soon to be alpha, Chase, he sometimes beats her and locks her up in the dungeon when his dad the alpha is away.
“Hayley, come down this instant” Luke, the delta [third In command] roared.
Quickly Hayley got up from what you can hardly call a bed, ran downstairs, first thing she received was a sounding slap and she fell hard on the ground, she looked up and saw Luke standing there frowning with his twin Lucas, he was frowning like he wanted to be anywhere but here.
Both Luke and Lucas were her brothers, older ones to be precise, the only people good to her are Lucas[in some cases] and kacey, her best friend, but they can’t say anything because Chase would punish them badly so they just watch and then console her at the end of the day when no one is watching.
“How many fucking times do I have to tell you to prepare breakfast before dawn?” he half yelled walking slowly towards Hayley before kicking her in the chest, should have a few broken ones ribs now, unwillingly she stood up to make breakfast.
Hayley finished preparing their food, she grabbed her bag and left for another shit hole called school, on getting to school she met Kacey, her bestfriend waiting,
“Hey biatch” Kacey shoulder bumped her
“Hey” I replied, Kacey looked at her for a while knowing what probably happened before coming to school, it was always liked that she just wishe her friend would be happy.
“I know its hard but wouldn’t it be better if we just left this place?”
“i don’t know K, maybe something will change soon I can just feel it”
“Nothing is going to change Hay, can’t you see that? Even when the Alpha and Luna returns, nothing is going to change, so put yourself together and let’s start thinking of a way out of this place because if you are going anywhere, I am going with. You got that?”.
“Yes ma’am” Hayley replied while smiling at her only friend then we went to class.
Haley got home early to prepare dinner, took the little that was left to eat and headed upstairs to her room.
“Time is near” A feminine voice spoke
“Who’s there?” she asked frighteningly looking around and picking up a bat found by the corner
“It’s me, your wolf” the voice said again
“What wolf? I don’t have a wolf, I swear it if you are joking with me I won’t let you get away easily” she held the bat tight to her chest ready to swing at an time
“I am in your head dufus” the voice said again sarcastically, that’s when she realized that it was truly coming from her head, she visibly relaxed and dropped the bat, sat crossed legs to see what was going on in her head but something blocked her
“What is happening, why can’t I see you?”
“There is a seal on you that is why you cannot see me”
“So why now, why did it take you so long to reach out to me”
“I couldn’t reach out because it was no the right time”
“Now is the right time huh?” Now she was plainly being sarcastic
“Actually not now, but soon, very soon, I can feel the seal weakening”
“What now? What do you expect me to do now?
“Well we wait, when the time comes for us to transform we would feel it”
“So do you have a name of something?” Hayley has never been one to name a thing normally ends up giving them silly names, she had a doll when she was little and gave it lipsy because the dolls lips were a bit bigger than normal
“Artella” her wolf sighed as it had watched that scene but couldn’t protest or speak her opinion because wolves only manifest when the human is 13 years of age, although she was born with this human she has been sealed up since her birth which gave the opportunity to view this humans life but along the way she grew pity and attached to this her.
“Okay Artella, my name is…”
“I know your name, wouldn’t it be weird if I didn’t know your name all these while?” Artella said retorted, she could just feel that was shaking her head.
“I guess so but am going to rest now, talk later” the voice replied with a hum while she laid down to sleep

Hayley woke up to the sound of the ringing alarm clock, found out it was 3 in the morning, quickly she got up, ran downstairs to prepare breakfast so she wouldn’t have to face punishment again today, she suddenly paused for a moment and noticed that there was something off about today but she just couldn’t place her mind on it, probably something is going to happen or its already happening.
“It’s your birthday idiot” Artella spoke in her head
“Oh, I forgot” she truly did forget
“You really are an idiot”
“At this is point, I think insulting me is part of your daily routine” Hayley told Artella as she got up did her daily routine and heading to school
“Hey Kacey” she waved to her best friend
“Hey girl, so…you ready to meet your mate today?” Kacey asked “I mean if you don’t wanna meet him I totally get it because this pack is full of crazy wackjobs”
“Yes I have to, I can’t run forever, can I?”
“But what if it’s the almighty shitface?”
“Don’t even think about him K, but even if he is… he’s supposed to love me no matter what right?”
“Yeah but I doubt if he knows about the word love or even know how it feels” Kacey spoke with a raised brow
“Yeah right” Hayley laughed mockingly at their conversation as they walked in the hallways towards their lockers and that’s when she caught the most amazing scent she has ever smelled. It smelled like coconut and something else she couldn’t quite put a name on.
Immediately like a force pushing her to her destiny she left Kacey to follow the scent and it led her to an empty classroom, she paused fixing her hair and making sure that she looked presentable, Hayley has never felt nervous but now a series of ‘what ifs’ where going through her head but when she finally opened the classroom she was met with the most heartbreaking scene that she has ever witnessed.
A gasp was all she could let out as she watched her mate tangled up with someone else.
