Chapter 1: The Invisible King
INT. OLLIVANDER HIGH SCHOOL - LAST ROW OF DESKS - DAY
JAKE, 16, slouches in the last desk, his hoodie pulled over his messy hair. His fingers dance across a battered LAPTOP, eyes fixed on the screen. To the teachers, he is invisible. To the school's mainframe, he is a god.
MAJA, 15, a bright-eyed girl with a mischievous grin, leans over to get a better look.
MAJA
(whispering)
What are you up to, Jake? Another prank?
Jake doesn't look up, his brow furrowed in concentration.
JAKE
(muttering)
Hacking the school system. What’s it look like?
Jake hits the 'ENTER' key. Suddenly, the smart-board at the front of the room glitters. The math equations vanish, replaced by a giant 3D Dancing Samosa singing the school anthem in a heavy metal voice.
The classroom explodes into laughter. MRS. WILSON, the teacher, turns beet-red.
MAJA
(giggling)
Brilliant! Pure gold, Jake.
But Jake’s smile fades. He looks at KATE, a girl in the front row. She isn't laughing. She is holding an expulsion notice. Her eyes are red from crying. She can't afford the fees.
JAKE
(whispering to himself)
Yeah. Brilliant.
Jake turns back to his laptop. The fun is over. He opens a dark terminal window. Green code scrolls across his pupils.
JAKE (V.O.)
The Taco was for the laughs. This... this is for her.
The system is designed to filter out people like Kate. A simple database entry: "Fees unpaid." Status: "Expelled." Like she’s just a broken variable in a line of code within the 2026 wealth architecture.
On the screen, a terminal window labeled "CENTRAL FINANCIAL DATABASE" flashes. A red warning sign blinks: ACCESS DENIED.
JAKE
(gritting his teeth)
Not today. I don't care about the firewalls. I don't care about the consequences.
He types at lightning speed. Commands fly across the black background: bypass_firewall --protocol-delta, root_access --target-id:SCHOOL_FINANCE.
The green light of the screen reflects in his eyes. He is deep in the system now, navigating through layers of encrypted data that most people don't even know exist. He sees the ledger. He sees Kate’s name. Next to it, the number is flashing in red: $4,500 DUE.
JAKE
Let's give the system a little 'gift'.
He doesn't just delete her debt. He creates a ghost scholarship. He labels it: "The Anonymous Backbencher Grant." He redirects a tiny, unnoticed fraction of the school’s overpriced administrative budget into Kate’s account. It’s a digital Robin Hood move.
On screen, the red text turns BRIGHT GREEN.
STATUS: PAID IN FULL.
Jake exhales, a drop of sweat hitting his keyboard. He looks up. Kate is staring at her phone. Her eyes go wide. She looks at the screen, then at the teacher, then around the room in absolute shock. A small, confused smile starts to form on her face as she realizes she's staying.
Jake closes the laptop lid slowly. He pulls his hoodie even lower, retreating back into the shadows of the last row.
JAKE
(whispering)
Simulation bypassed. Reality restored.
FADE OUT.
