Story Notes

The Dusk Crow is a dark fantasy about exile, betrayal, resource greed, and the strange kind of heroism born among people the world has abandoned. It begins at the edge of Cainvion, in Land Ends, a brutal city without kings, law, or mercy, then expands into a war over Chromium, a rising island, and an ancient demon sealed beneath the world. At its heart is Cosmo Tuidjia: not a chosen saviour, but a disgraced commander terrified of being trusted again. His shadow power does not simply make him stronger. It awakens the potential of others, including their courage, wounds, ambition, and darkness. This is a story of outcasts learning to stand together, and of a fallen man choosing whether to clear his name or let the legend of the Dusk Crow save people who may never forgive him.

Summary

Exiled as a traitor after the woman he loved betrayed his war plans, former commander Cosmo Tuidjia has buried his name in Land Ends, a lawless city where Cainvion throws away its broken and unwanted. Now known only as Cairn Vale, he wants nothing more than to survive unnoticed. Then an earthquake tears the coast open, the sea withdraws, and a black island rich with Chromium rises from the mist. Monsters follow. Kingdoms come to claim it. And the ancient power sealed beneath the island begins to wake. Forced to wield his father’s forbidden shadow artefact, Cosmo becomes the masked saviour whispered about as the Dusk Crow, a figure able to awaken the hidden potential of others. But every life he saves pulls him closer to the darkness that ruined his bloodline, and the people of Land Ends may destroy him if they discover their new hero is the infamous traitor they were taught to hate.
