comic book adaptation of a short story from The Empty Dog (Il cane vuoto) by Dino Buzzati. Created during the comics course during the 2006-2007 school year at ERG (École de Recherche Graphique) in Brussels, Belgium. I'm very sorry for my poor english, 20 years ago.

Summary

(this story is an adaptation in comics) Glub, Nora's dog, is her last link to "him," the beloved who left her. On Christmas Eve, the bulldog bumps into all the furniture in the apartment: he has gone blind. Nora struggles to find a doctor willing to treat him. On her way home, suddenly, amidst the crowd doing their last-minute shopping, she realizes the immensity of her loneliness. The happiness of others seems even more cruel and overwhelming on this festive evening. "How horrible it is to be strangers, without a loving glance in the heart of the celebration." And she understands that this animal to which she clings desperately is just an empty vessel; he cannot understand her pain or hold the memory of the past. Now alone in the streets, she feels the burning pain of Christmas crushing her heart.
