-------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few months have passed.

Katsuya and Karin's conditions were great, as were Gan’s and Kenji’s.

News spread that the Government had executed someone who broke their forbidden rules, but no one knew for sure who was executed or what the person did to deserve it.

The next day, Katsuya came to school, entered the classroom, and sat with Gan and Kenji.

"Hey, did you hear about the news?"

Kenji asked.

Katsuya shook his head curiously before asking,

"What happened?"

Gan sighed and leaned back on his chair before responding,

"The Government eliminated someone for violating their forbidden rules. That someone was actually from this school — a student."

Katsuya processed the words in his mind.

"Eliminated? Like, expelled?"

He asked.

Kenji shook his head and said,

"No. Eliminated from this world. Killed."

Katsuya's eyes widened.

"What did he do, though?"

Gan scoffed and said,

"That's what all of us don't know... The Government didn't even announce the rules or what rule that person broke."

Kenji nodded and added,

"Our school head, the principal, got super angry. He wanted to know the reason, but the Government didn't give any straight answer. It's like... they're trying to hide something from us."

Suddenly, a new professor entered the classroom — not just any ordinary professor, but a polite and gentle one.

He seemed a bit embarrassed and peeked into the room.

"Uhm... Is this Room 71?"

All the students, including the three, looked at the door. Gan replied,

"Yes. Is there anything we could do for you?"

The professor sighed in relief, entered the room, and put his things down on the desk before introducing himself.

He wasn’t tall or short — just average height, with medium-length hair and a muscular build underneath his uniform.

"Good morning, class. I'm your new professor. My name is John Kaiser, but you can call me Professor Kaiser, because I also don't like my first name."

He said playfully with a smile.

The whole room laughed and decided to call him as he liked.

The lecture started.

Katsuya noticed something — the new professor wasn’t trying to pressure them, but taught them with practicality. After the lecture, Kaiser announced something.

"Okay, class. Since you've learned the basics of magic and your new forms, why don't all of you — one by one, of course — come to the front and show everyone your skills?"

The whole class erupted in joy and quickly agreed.

One by one, they showed their magic. Some displayed real skills, while others only showed their first forms and base forms.

Only the three — Gan, Kenji, and Katsuya — were left.

Gan showed the whole class his long sword, while Kenji showed them his air magic.

Then, Katsuya was the only one left.

The whole class looked at Katsuya, including the professor.

But... Kaiser felt something off. He couldn’t sense any magic from Katsuya. Instead of forcing him, he said to the whole class,

"Who wants to see this lovely student right here show his skills?"

The whole class laughed at the professor, but not in a mocking way toward Katsuya. They were clearly enjoying Kaiser’s presence. The class cheered for Katsuya.

Katsuya took a deep breath before stepping forward.

He remembered the time when Matthew stopped him because he knew Katsuya had no skills. But now, he wouldn’t waste his chance to reveal what he could do.

He stepped on the ground. His legs started getting surrounded by electric energy.

The whole class erupted in cheers. This was their first time seeing a skill like this. But...

Kaiser widened his eyes. He couldn’t sense any magic, but the way Katsuya showed something told him it wasn’t magic — it was an ability he couldn’t sense, because he also knew Katsuya didn’t have any magic.

Instead of stopping him, Kaiser told everyone to clap for Katsuya and for themselves for showing their skills.

Class ended. Everyone left the classroom except for Katsuya.

He started preparing his things to leave and hang out with Gan and Kenji, but Kaiser walked up to him.

"Katsuya, right?"

Katsuya finished packing his things and looked up at Kaiser.

"Professor? Y-yeah, I am. Is there any problem?"

Kaiser smiled and shook his head.

"No, but the one you showed earlier… it was cool. Was that… an ability?"

Kaiser asked.

Katsuya looked away, debating whether to tell him or not.

He looked back at him and nodded.

"Yes… Is there something wrong?"

Katsuya said.

Kaiser shook his head and said,

"No, no, no. Absolutely nothing is wrong. It's just… It's my dream to meet someone like you — no magic, but has an ability."

Katsuya nodded and said,

"Well, I have to go now. We can talk next time, Professor."

He said before walking past him.

Kaiser nodded and waved goodbye.

"Yes, sure! I'll wait for that."

After Katsuya left, Kaiser locked the classroom door and sat back in his chair. His face turned serious before he whispered to himself,

"So this was one of your group members, huh… Kari…"

After Katsuya, Gan, and Kenji had fun, they decided to walk around the evening city for a bit before going home.

Suddenly, as they walked through the empty roads, they stopped when they saw someone… No, a lot of them, walking toward them.

Gan felt something off and stopped the two.

"Let's go back."

But it was already too late. A group of people dressed in all black, covering themselves except for their eyes, approached and stopped in front of the three.

Kenji’s face turned serious, Gan remained calm, and Katsuya observed them, ready to strike if needed.

A tall lady suddenly walked out from the group and stopped between them, smirking down at the three.

"It's already 8:00 in the evening. Why are there still naughty boys walking around the city?"

Gan's face slightly contorted in disgust, like he knew something, before saying,

"What are you saying? The Government clearly said students could and can actually walk around here until 10:00 in the evening."

The lady laughed at him and said,

"Nooo, the rules have changed~"

Her voice was a bit seductive and luring.

But it only made the trio disgusted.

"Ew..."

Kenji whispered before Katsuya pretended to puke, mocking her.

Gan scoffed before smirking mockingly at her.

"Rules have changed? How? Was there an announcement?"

He asked.

The lady grew impatient and sighed in frustration.

"Boys, get them."

All the men on the lady’s side rushed toward the trio to beat them up.

The trio knew this would happen. They ran off, but instead of escaping, they split up.

The group had no choice but to divide themselves into three groups and chase them separately.

The lady grinned widely, thinking she had already won, and wandered around the city to find another victim. But as she walked through the empty roads, someone appeared behind her.

"Where are you going?"

She turned around and widened her eyes slightly as she saw a girl… Karin.

The lady smiled innocently and asked,

"My, my, why is there a naughty girl still outside? Shouldn’t you be home studying for your exam?"

Karin, Katsuya’s older sister, turned cold and said,

"Who are you? We both know you’re not from the Government, and you’re clearly not helping them."

The lady’s smile turned into a challenging smirk.

"Did I offend you?"

She asked mockingly before adding,

"That's so smart of you, young lady… I must admit, you caught me."

Karin listened and responded,

"You were the one who killed the student from the Magic Academy..."

The lady sighed, pretending to be defeated before saying,

"You play chess, huh?"

She said, before her smirk returned and she added,

"Yes… I killed that student because I didn’t like him… I’m the new Government now, and you must be killed too..."

Karin stayed calm and asked,

"How did you even convince almost everyone to believe it was the Government who killed that student?"

The lady chuckled mockingly before saying,

"Now that, I can’t say..."

Karin knew if she left now, this lady would cause more problems throughout the Government and the school.

On the other hand, Gan stopped running and pulled out his sword through thin air.

The men who were following him stopped and also pulled out their magic katanas.

One of the men teleported behind him and aimed to cut him, followed by another in front.

Gan casually teleported away behind the others, making the two who were about to attack him accidentally slice and kill each other.

Gan finished off the remaining ones with his base slashes.

He was about to leave and help the others, thinking he had already won.

But the group of men suddenly merged into one man… who looked exactly like him, holding the same sword too.

Gan's eyes widened as he witnessed what just happened.

It was basically his clone now, but he didn’t know the abilities of this one.

He teleported behind and sliced the man in half.

But the slice just regenerated quickly.

Gan now understood the task — this man could and would always adapt to whatever attacks he received.

The man turned around and swiftly delivered a swing to cut Gan in half.

But Gan was smart. He blocked the attack with his sword and grabbed the man by the neck before flying up and throwing him down to the ground.

Suddenly, the man teleported behind him and punched him hard down to the ground.

He was sent down hard and coughed up blood from the impact.

He felt everything, including the fist.

But instead of staying there, he stood up and smirked proudly.

This time, he could actually use and test his first form magic on this man, because he didn’t use it properly against Matthew last time. Now, it was his spotlight.

He transformed into his magic’s first form.

"Million years of suffering... release."

He changed appearance again, same as the last time he fought Matthew.

But now, he was much calmer and more observant than before.

He also noticed his clone adapted to his magic and used his first form too.

He smirked proudly. Now he could actually see how strong he really was.

He rained down the man with multiple dark slashes before pointing the tip of his blade toward him and releasing a high-damaging dark beam.

After that, he teleported down to see the man’s condition.

The man just swung his sword, removing the dust and smoke Gan created. His face was cold and empty.

Gan's smirk widened before teleporting behind the man.

He cut his back, but the man quickly adapted.

The man turned around and released a series of slashes, aiming toward Gan.

Gan countered with a beam, blasting off and exploding the slashes one by one until the beam passed through and hit the man in the chest, creating a large hole.

But the man adapted so fast. He held his sword up, his sword emitting a dark color before bringing it down and delivering a dark slash toward Gan.

Gan's eyes widened. He learned a new technique before teleporting away.

The dark slash exploded much bigger than his own slashes. He tried it too — held his sword up, his sword emitting a dark aura. When he felt it was heavy enough, he brought it down, delivering a dark slash toward the man.

As the fight continued, Gan used this man to learn new techniques, new skills, and even some defenses.

On the other hand, Katsuya had already finished off the men who were chasing him. He struggled a bit, but it didn’t drain too much of his ability’s energy.

He saw a sword near the defeated men and grabbed it.

Suddenly, the sword was surrounded by his own electricity.

His eyes widened. He knew exactly what this meant.

If something he held was surrounded by his ability, it had already accepted it and would become part of his ability now.

The sword was a katana with a long handle, but it had no sheath.

Suddenly, the sword was covered in thick bandages.

His eyes widened, not knowing where it came from, but he knew for sure that the sword covered itself to protect him from harm. He could always remove it if he wanted to use it.

But now, he didn’t know where to put it. Then he remembered that the sword did its own thing.

He casually dropped the sword, and as expected, it slowly floated to his side.

He walked and moved around, but the sword never left him.

"It's so cool!!!"

He said, excitement building inside him.

He also tried grabbing the blade, but the sword kept moving away from his hand. Even when he tried to hold the handle to keep it from escaping, the sword was surrounded by an invisible force so he couldn’t reach the blade, and it still stayed beside him, ready to be used when needed.

"I'll keep this one."

He promised.

Kenji, on the other hand, had already finished his fight and decided to go back. But a stray puppy suddenly rushed toward him and stopped in front of him, looking up and panting slightly.

Kenji knelt down on one knee and patted the puppy gently.

"What's your name?"

He asked.

The puppy barked softly.

Kenji smiled and said,

"I don't think I can keep you as my pet."

He said, but then remembered Gan wouldn’t mind if there was a dog in their home.

The puppy suddenly lost its spark.

Kenji’s smile widened and he grabbed the puppy into his arms.

"Nevermind, I'll keep you from now on."

And with that, all three of them received a reward.

On the other hand, Karin was still talking with the lady.

Will Karin succeed in exposing her, or will the lady escape again and cause more trouble?
