Chapter 1: GRADUATION CEREMONY
Rockwell stood on the roof of the school and was staring off into the horizon. He was looking back at what had happened the past week. Around the beginning of the week, the other students in his middle school found out about his Yakuza tattoo. It was a tattoo of the grim reaper surrounded by souls. He was alone in the shower when someone opened the stall as a joke and saw it. He spread the info about it to the class group and in a matter of minutes, he was the talk of the school. The students avoided him like a plague besides one girl. She was an azure-haired timid girl in glasses who treated him no different. While he was still lost in thought, someone called out to him from behind saying," Hey Rockwell, it's time for the ceremony. We should be heading to the hall."
" Oh sorry, let's go Runa," said Rockwell turning to face her.
She saw his solemn expression and was about to ask him but he walked past her with a grunt. He jumped through the stairs to avoid the hassle and was on the ground floor that much faster. Runa was so far behind that it wasn't even funny any more. Rockwell walked towards the hall as students just stopped to look at him. Then came the popular girl. She was a sapphire-haired girl called Luna. She was with her cronies as they approached the put off Rockwell." Hello there Rockwell, it's been a while hasn't it," said Luna.
" What is it Luna? I need to get to the podium early," said Rockwell not bothered by her.
" I was just wondering why you are so quiet lately," said Luna with a smug smile and some of her cronies started smiling.
Rockwell bit his lip and held back because the cause of this was one of her cronies. He was about to walk away when said crony blocked him. Veins appeared on his forehead bulging and he was about to punch when Runa came out of nowhere and stood in-between the two. The man ordered her to get away but she said," I'm not moving. I thought you were better than this Luna. I thought you liked Rockwell."
" So, what's it to you?" Luna asked.
" Why are you working with the one who sold out Rockwell's secret. He is the reason why Rockwell is in his slump," said Runa pointing at the criminal.
Luna looked at the boy with such anger that she was comparable to a tiger. She punched the boy so hard that he was sent flying a few metres away and she said," You are lucky this is the last day we are here. If I ever see you again I will end you."
Rockwell looked at the situation and dragged Runa out of there. Luna looked at them walk away but could do nothing. The crowd that was forming came to talk trash about the taddle tale. He was still on the ground feeling the shame and swore to himself that he was going to punish that girl. Snitches get stitches. Maybe he should listen to his own words.
( During the ceremony, after the principal's speech )
Rockwell was called to the front as the valedictorian to give a speech for the departing class. He cleared his throat and began," Well, this class has been one impressive class in my opinion. From the common student to the student council. We won the national sports and drama so I believe a bright future is in the following all of them. I hope you all good luck in high school and be careful with your future decisions."
They clapped for him as they all stood to celebrated. The parents and students mingled as they slowly left the hall. Rockwell could not be bothered since his own parents did not come. He went to walk around the pitch when a scream was heard behind him. He turned to see the taddle tale attack a blue haired girl with an iron rod before bolting off. Rockwell ran up to check the situation to find out it was Luna. Rockwell was puzzled. Runa then followed suit chasing after the boy who was now having a face of horror.
Rockwell did what was rational and carried Luna in a princess carry to the nurse office. Luna tried to protest because it was embarrassing but he did not want to hear none of it. Rockwell picked her up together with the iron rod and bolted into the main school building. When he passed by some female students, they squealed in joy for her and she covered her face. The nurse's office welas not far so he got their fast. He knocked on the door and the nurse allowed them to enter. He opened the door and there sat the nurse who was quite the sight. He placed Luna on the bed and wished her health before trying to escape but the nurse shoved him to the seat next to the bed. He could feel two soft things on his forehead and he tried to sink into his seat but she put he arms round his neck to prevent Rockwell from escaping. He was now blushing and Luna was glaring at him." Come on Luna, you don't have anything to say to me?" the nurse asked.
Luna blushed and stammered a reaction which was shutdown by the nurse who called out," Hey Runa, how long are you going to stand at the door waiting. I might just take Rockwell's first kiss from you all."
Th other two looked at each other puzzled until the door opened to reveal a timid Runa. " Took you long enough, he's all yours," said the nurse as she went to pack up her equipment.
" Where are you going to nurse?" Luna asked.
" I was given an offer I just couldn't refuse so I'm going for a transfer. Who knows, we might see each other in the future," she said finishing up her packing.
" Maybe. Until next time Dr. Aoi," said Rockwell as she walked out of the room," Now, can you explain why you are here Runa?"
" Well... You see...," she began but Rockwell cut her off.
" You're sisters right?" Rockwell asked but before she could answer," where is that son of a bitch who did this?"
"He is on the football bitch getting a lecture from his parents," answered Runa.
" Good. I'll go deal with him and his squad. Don't come looking for me," said Rockwell picked up the iron rod he came with and walked out of there.
He stopped at the door and without looking back, he said," Just so you know, I believe that you two were pretty good sisters. And I knew the whole time that you two were related. Who knows, maybe we will meet in the future. Later."
He walked off in the calm before the storm.
