Good omens

I am a 200-year-old angel, I don’t leave heaven often. Angels and demons don’t have genders; Some would like to be called a boy or a girl, Most just go by any or they/them. I am close to Muriel (they/them) and Aziraphale (any), I am closer to Muriel than Aziraphale. Aziraphale is very close to a demon named Crowley (any), I bet you already know this. You want to know more about me, I have brown hair, bright white wings, and blue eyes. I don’t care if you call me a boy or girl, my name is Glen.

My first time on Earth was a whirlwind of sensations and emotions. I descended in a quiet meadow, surrounded by vibrant flowers and the sweet scent of grass. The colors were more vivid than anything I’d seen in Heaven—each hue pulsing with life. As I stepped onto the soft ground, I felt a thrill of curiosity. I wandered through a nearby village, captivated by the laughter of children and the warmth of human connections. I watched them share stories, meals, and dreams. It was a stark contrast to the tranquility of Heaven, but I found beauty in their chaos.

I look around the world I don’t know. I walk around the London streets. I see a “GIVE ME COFFEE OR GIVE ME DEATH” coffee shop. I walk in. A black painted building with ornate, slightly spooky ironwork, possibly resembling a tombstone or a gargoyle motif. A large, flickering neon sign reading "GIVE ME COFFEE OR GIVE ME DEATH" in a bold, gothic font. I go to the counter.

“Coffee”

“What type?”

“Um, surprise me”

The barista, Nina, raises an eyebrow but smiles, clearly amused by my whimsical request. "Alright, surprise it is! One mystery coffee coming right up!" She starts to work, grinding fresh beans while the rich aroma fills the air.

As I wait, you take in the unique decor of the café—skulls and gothic art mix with cozy seating, creating a charmingly eerie atmosphere. A group of friends laughs at a nearby table, their energy infectious.

Moments later, Nina hands me a steaming cup. “Here you go! It's a spiced mocha with a hint of lavender. Trust me, it’s a crowd-pleaser.”

I take a sip, the flavors swirling together in a delightful dance. It’s warm and comforting, but with an unexpected twist.

“So, what brings you to our little corner of London?” Nina asks, her curiosity piqued.

“I was going to go over to A. Z. FELL & Co.”

“Oh you are going to over to see Aziraphale and Crowley”

“I am”

“They are a nice couple.”

“Wait there a couple?”

“You didn’t know?”

“No!” I mess with my fingers.

Nina laughs lightly, clearly enjoying the surprise on my face. “Yeah, they’ve got quite the dynamic. You can feel the chemistry, right? It’s kind of legendary around here.”

I take another sip of spiced mocha, the flavors still dancing on my tongue. “I’ve always seen them as friends. I mean, they are close, but... a couple?”

Nina nods, leaning in slightly as if sharing a secret. “Oh, absolutely! They bicker like an old married couple, but there’s so much love there. You’ll see for yourself if you visit them. Just be prepared for some... interesting conversations. They have quite a history!”

Feeling a mix of intrigue and a bit of embarrassment, I ponder what this new revelation means for my understanding of their relationship. “What’s it like, hanging out with them?”

Nina grins. “It’s a mix of chaos and charm. Aziraphale is all about the books and the finer things in life, while Crowley’s more on the mischievous side. Together, they make quite the team! You never know what to expect.”

I smile, imagining the lively dynamic between the two. “I can’t wait to see it for myself.”

“Just be careful—they have a knack for getting into trouble!” Nina winks, handing me a small, folded paper. “Here’s a little map to find A. Z. FELL & Co. Don’t get lost in the excitement!”

Thanking her, I tuck the map away and finish my coffee, the warmth spreading through like sunlight breaking through the clouds. I’m ready for whatever adventure awaits with Aziraphale and Crowley.
