Prologue

Murder on Christmas Eve

“Brutal Christmas Eve massacre leaves three family members dead — police hunt 20-year-old daughter

Three members of a family were found dead inside their rural home on Christmas Day after relatives went to check on them. According to police, the killings are believed to have taken place on Christmas Eve.

Post-mortem examinations revealed that the mother had been strangled before being stabbed more than thirty times. The father died from a gunshot wound to the head, while the family’s younger son was found restrained in his own bed. He died from severe blood loss.

Investigators found no signs of forced entry or evidence suggesting that an intruder had broken into the home. During a search of the property, however, police discovered a written confession allegedly left behind by the couple’s 20-year-old daughter, university student L. R.

The young woman’s whereabouts remain unknown. A nationwide warrant has been issued for her arrest on suspicion of three counts of murder. Police are urging anyone who sees her or has information regarding her whereabouts to contact authorities immediately.

The motive behind the brutal killings remains unknown.

What could drive a 20-year-old woman to murder her own family?”

K. A.

Dear Diary,

This entry is going to be a long and rather unusual one.

I know perfectly well that no one else would ever understand why I did what I did. After all, they never had a glimpse into the life I lived. But now I finally have the chance to answer all the whys and hows.

I want the world to know my story. I want people to see what can hide behind a kind smile, to pay attention to what really goes on behind the closed doors of a family home.

If you like, you can call what follows my confession—a confession about my own version of justice.

Humanity has been ripe for destruction for a long time now… and as they say, you should always put your own house in order first.

So I had to start the cleansing fire right there, in the snake pit I called home.

Those who deserved to suffer, suffered.

I don’t regret it.

Not for a second.

In fact, if I had to do it all over again, I would.

Without even blinking.
