The Little Glowbug
Page 1
One evening in Wonderwood,
Lumi skipped where moonflowers stood.
The stars were twinkling way up high,
Like little lanterns in the sky.
Then from behind a leafy log,
There peeked a tiny glowing bug!
He zipped and zoomed from tree to tree,
As bright as bright could ever be.

“Hello!” said Lumi. “What’s your name?”
“Blinky!” he chirped, and off he came.
He had a pocket full of light,
And kept it hidden out of sight.
Pip asked, “Can we have one to see?”
“No, no! They’re all for me!”
Momo frowned, while Zuzu said,
“Blinky, sharing isn’t bad!”

But Blinky shook his little head.
“I need my sparkles!” Blinky said.
“What if they vanish when I share?
What if I have none left to spare?”
Lumi smiled and thought a while,
Then gave the little bug a smile.
“Let’s try one sparkle, just one small—
We don’t have to share them all.”

Lumi held the Wonder Spark bright,
And Blinky’s little glow took flight.
“Wonder Spark, please shine and show,
How sharing makes our friendship glow!”
A tiny sparkle floated free,
Then another joined with glee.
Pip clapped, Momo danced around,
While Zuzu laughed without a sound!

Blinky blinked and looked around—
His little lights were all around!
The more he shared, the more they grew,
And soon his friends were glowing too.
He giggled, “Wow! Now I can see—
Sharing makes more light for me!”
Lumi smiled and hugged him tight.
“Sharing makes the world more bright!”
Through Wonderwood they danced along,
With glowing lights and happy song.
