Prologue - The Heart of Resurgence

Resurgence - Our home - Our mother.

For centuries has this land served as a mighty incubator for our peoples' spirit, bundling them away from the harsh torments of a solitary existence.

Here, on our home, nestled away in her womb, we have thrived as a people, as a race of multiple species, coming from a plethora of cultures that originated on various lands across the cosmos. We have worked tirelessly with our hearts and our hands to achieve the noble aim of our ancestors -- replenishing the galaxies with hope of a better future -- a better reality.

Our nation, our land, one for all and all for one, prospers. It has prospered long as a result of the hard work we have done in carrying the noble message of our ancestors forward. This act of ours has enabled us to receive the blessings of our ancestors in multitude such that it is rendered difficult to put into words.

Our prosperity required great diligence, patience and sacrifice. Only one more planet in this solar system -- the little blue dot -- has life similar to ours. We know the tribe that populates the blue dot calls ours 'Pluto'. Their appearance in body and soul is much closer to ours than any other species populating the vast majority of habitable worlds. An interesting tribe they are, much curious about the entirety of the cosmos. A portion of our ancestors settled among them, choosing to venture towards a fragmented world full of people with intentions unknown; much curious they were too.

The rest settled on mother Resurgence.

You may say to me, that all of what I have just said to you, you already know. 'How has this wretched old man added to my already overflowing knowledge?’ the arrogant voice may definitely speak this to you in your head. You may say that and you may think to yourself that I am a silly old man who repeats what everyone already knows - and that talk of ancestors is mere fable, a wisp of smoke that has been blown away by the 'progressive' birth stories of science folk.

Do you know why we came here? And how we came here to mother Resurgence? Do you know why it is called Resurgence? Why some of from us went ahead while others stayed back? After all, what was the reason our ancestors traversed a great distance, navigating through the unknown, fighting against adversarial circumstance sent their way by the dark part of the Great Galactic Spirit?

You may say to me, that you already know the answer with clarity - what new knowledge could you possibly give to us you wrinkly old fellow? The science folk have already dictated to us our birth story in few short, simple sentences:

'Our ancestors believed this planet was ripe for settlement. They left a dying world, which was soon to be withered away into gaseous elements by its dying Suns. They stocked throngs upon throngs in ships, grander than the grandest ice palace and fared through the vast emptiness of space until they landed here. Of course, they were guided by various sophisticated navigational instruments.'

'They came here as the great seas formed and the great seas formed as the giant ice cold heart - the heart shaped ice cap - of mother Resurgence melted , the very seas that enabled habitability'

So I ask you and the science folk now: why did the ice heart melt? And how did it melt? The tribe on the little blue dot surely was not capable enough.

'A random trickle of fate' you say. 'Mere chance', the science folk say.

Hogwash! I say! Silly science folk and silly you -- Fate is not random!

I know of a story far better. Not the 'progressive' garbage this generation spouts. The insolence of the science folk towards our ancestors reduces their image to a mere outline of its reality. Therefore, as an elder of the tribe, I believe that it’s my responsibility to unveil to you the story of your birth, lest the souls of the ancestors forsake you and a damning punishment catches you in the deep slumber of your ignorance.

Listen. And listen to me with great concentration.

Just outside our little home, lies a little belt of many little planets as such. The tribe on the little blue dot calls it 'The Kuiper belt'. We are apparently part of it they state in their official documents.

Out beyond the belt very far away lies a place.

It is the place where our people were born from stardust, me and you and everyone in between. In this place, the conditions of which are now unknown, ten planets and twenty moons circled two stars. A long time ago, on those planets and moons lived a great and powerful tribe ruled by an even more powerful King.

The legend goes....well; it is better shown than told, and might I insert this little diskette from my locket into the disk drive of the Tele-visor. Wait; let me flick to the story narrator mode, Ah! Yes, It interprets a thousand words from the moving pictures!

Tele-visor turns on
