One day, a tiny demon made a grand declaration.
"Starting today, the 'No More Chores!' Point Game is officially underway! And you, Rich Man Z—you are my very first guinea pig!"
"My, my. And what exactly made you choose me?"
Despite being suddenly confronted by a peculiar little fiend making strange demands, Rich Man Z remained entirely unbothered.
"Because you’re filthy rich! You’re the absolute perfect specimen of someone who looks like they’ve never touched a broom in their life. Look at this place! You live in a magnificent, sprawling mansion, yet every single room is pristine. You eat three lavish meals a day, and your clothes are of the finest quality, flawlessly pressed. But here’s the catch—you aren't the one doing any of this 'housework,' are you?"
"Quite true," Rich Man Z replied, puffing out his chest with an air of absolute certainty. "My servants handle everything. My own hands remain entirely unstained by such labour."
"Aha! Just as I thought!" the tiny demon crowed, brimming with self-importance.
This was his very first solo assignment, and he was practically bursting with enthusiasm. He had spent countless hours cooped up, pouring his heart into crafting the rules all by himself.
"Listen closely, for I shall explain the mechanics. Every time you neglect a chore and choose to be delightfully lazy, 'No More Chores!' points will accumulate in the Underworld’s central ledger. But beware—these are not positive points. They are negative points. Each act of laziness earns you a 'Minus One.' The lazier you are, the deeper into the negatives you sink. However, if you dare to do any housework, your score will jump by 'Plus Three.' Your precious negative points will vanish. And rightly so! This is the 'No More Chores!' game, after all!"
The demon paused to catch his breath, then grinned mischievously.
"Now, once your negative points reach a certain threshold, your level drops by one. And every time your level goes down, you receive a handsome cash reward. You start at Level Zero. Accumulate minus ten points, and you hit Level Minus One, which grants you ten thousand yen. Sink further to minus twenty points, and you reach Level Minus Two, netting you twenty thousand yen. Brilliant, isn't it?" the tiny demon boasted, his eyes sparkling with pride.
"Indeed. Quite a generous venture," Rich Man Z murmured, nodding with genuine amusement.
"Isn't it? Isn't it?! The Great Demon King himself authorised the budget! You see, the gods up in Heaven are perpetually broke, but we demons have coffers overflowing with gold plundered from the wicked!"
"Splendid, splendid. So all I must do is indulge in my usual idleness, and money will simply fall into my lap? Well then, I suppose I must apply myself diligently to the art of doing absolutely nothing."
With a chuckle, Rich Man Z enthusiastically agreed to participate in the 'No More Chores!' Point Game.
