Wished

I was staring down at the water below. I haven't been here in a year. All the memories came flooding back. I'm not sure why I ended up back here. I always end up here on my birthday week. My thoughts about the accident came back to me here. they always do. I think back to my brother, my cousins, and my family. My true family. Not the one I have to deal with now.

I began my long journey back to my home. Its not much of a home, but it will do. My new family is nice. I'm just hoping for my sixteenth birthday in two days, that I will be getting to go back home. To my school, to my old life. Right now, that's not looking very promising. I sigh as I hang my head. Just like last year, I make my way to my front door. Already comfortable with my new neighborhood. That's not a good sign.

Opening the front door with my new house key, I turn the handle slowly. Why did today have to be the day my "brother" decided to invite over his friends. The one day he decides to not be a total introvert. Its even worse because he's older then me. It just adds on to this terrible day. Not that it matters much. I've met these friends before, one of them in particular I remember clearly. His name is Ethan. He is your typical "bad boy," popular kid. He was the one to make fun of me in every way possible. I mean, every way. Making fun of my name. I think Amber is a pretty normal name. I mean, there is another girl at my school with that name so....

I could hear Mason's friends voices from inside. I was already regretting waking up in the morning today. Why does he make me so miserable? I open the door hesitantly peeking inside. Luckily, they weren't in the living room, so I was free to quickly run inside without seeing them. I imagined that they were all probably in the kitchen, so I couldn't help myself but sneak a glance. Big mistake. Very big mistake. Why now of all days did she have to be here? She is that one person who could literally ruin your life if you just happened to see her in the hall. This person is, my ex-bestfriend. Dun dun dun!!! Sorry, I'm done now. Of course she had an equally evil name to match her evil personality. Charlotte. Okay, okay, her name isn't evil. She just is. She's one of those people who if you meet someone with the same name as her, you will probably assume they are just like her.

I quickly looked away, hoping she didn't see me. She would most likely be the one person who could turn this already terrible day, into the worst day of my life. She looked to the group with the most twisted smile on her face. Only one thought crossed my mind. RUN! I booked it up the stairs to the comfort of my room. Hiding myself under my comforter, I grab my phone and begin to call my friend. My only friend. We are really close, and quite frankly, I only want to talk to her about my day. Unfortunately, she didn't answer. I realized something at this moment. When I called her, a phone rang downstairs. Why?

I finally gathered enough courage to go downstairs to see her. I slammed my door shut to draw attention to myself. If today is my death day, I might as well make a scene. I figured Mason had invited all eight of his close friends, so I was surprised to see that there was more then that. A lot more. It seemed to be a party. I hate parties. *cries in corner* I'm joking. About the crying thing. Actually, probably not.

The accident happened just over a year ago. I don't think it was an accident, but I'll just have to believe my family. My new family, that is. Only two people know about the accident. Charlotte, and my new family. I guess that's more then two people, but whatever. I'm supposed to forget. Supposed to. That doesn't mean I did. people just assume that I'm okay. In reality I hide what happened behind smiles, and lies. Lies that only people close to me know about. *cough*Charlotte *cough* Sorry. I must have something stuck in my throat.

Well, I guess its time to face my worst nightmare. Wish me luck.
