Foreword - Alex
Once upon a time in a faraway land…
Oh, fuck it. I know half of this will seem like a fairy tale, but I don’t really care. All of this happened. I saw most of it, and whoever records the event did if I was away, asleep, or sick. We at Stormweather Academy specialize in the paranormal.
As somewhat of an expert on the subject, I can tell you a lot about paranormal events. I can also tell you why the ones I have observed happen; weird shit happens on Roanoke Island, and it has been for centuries. Why do you think the colonists disappeared? For some reason, there’s a giant fucking rift in reality on Roanoke Island, and that rift just happens to be next to my school.
The name’s Alex, by the way. Alex Robinson. I’m almost fifteen. Stormweather Academy has been my home for almost ten years, and will be my home until I get my high school diploma and move to somewhere that does not include dragons and unicorns as indigenous wildlife.
Stormweather’s a pretty small school, but I’m not alone in that regard of my parents dropping me off at the end of mandatory breaks and not picking me up until another one rolls around. There’s me, Ambrose, Angel, Aslan, Boadicea, Carl, Guinevere, Indi, John, Mark, Melody, Nick, Ray, and Susie. This is our story, and boy have we weathered some storms.
