Destiny Zero Origins - The Great Awakening

Many centuries ago, in a time long forgotten. The elder race of the first born watched over the new world as it secrets slowly began to unravel. They were the first to witness the Creation, watching over it as it grew. Born from time itself, the elders believed that it was created from an essence of pure evil.

It was then that the elders absorbed their powers into weapons, trinkets, and armor each granting the wielder extraordinary abilities, hoping that the chosen hero would one day appear to destroy the Creation. Just as the legend foretold.

During 1220 B.C, the first magic academy opened its doors to alchemists. Built by the vision of creating a foundation for future scholars, the Alchemists Legion believed that alchemy is a gift that is to be shared among all. Although, some secrets were better left unknown. ..

While attending the academy, Saint Carmelo a young priest at the time was determined to discover the real roots behind alchemy, his passion and thirst for knowledge drove him to discover an ancient powerful secret. As he was researching scrolls in the academy’s library, he stumbled upon a strange black scroll that was titled The Black Phoenix and mentioned that under the school, contained a hidden passage way filled with tombs of the old-times and scrolls containing forbidden knowledge.

Worried of these scrolls getting into the wrong hands, Saint Carmelo created The Fallen Order, a group of alchemists who swore to protect its secrets from the darkness that seeks forbidden enlightenment.

When Saint Carmelo ventured into the hidden passage way underneath the school, he discovered something terrifying. Not only did it in fact contain scrolls, but one of these scrolls holds the ability to learn forbidden magic, a magic so deep that it can alter perception and change reality.

If placed into the wrong hands, one could only imagine the terror that would be unleashed. But, when he placed his hands on the scroll, he had accidently released the evil that was trapped within the scroll for hundreds of years and thus learned the forbidden magic that he had swore to protect.

Ashamed at first, he kept it to himself. But eventually with clear confidence, he demonstrated these new abilities to his allies and with time, these new abilities grew even far more dangerous than he could ever imagine. While letting his ego get the best of him, he started to use it more and more.

Until, he noticed a strange sequence of events occurring. Each time he had used his new abilities, a strange whisper of words would come to him and the earth began to shake as if the world started to crumble.

Though, at first, he thought nothing of it, but eventually, he finally realized what was really going on, but by then it was too late... These new abilities he had gained, came with a deep price.

One that would awaken an ancient beast once known to the elder race as the Great Dragon of the Divine. Legends would tell us that the great beast’s power would grow over time as it’s host used their new found abilities. Every 100 years, the Beast would awaken from its slumber to wreak havoc on the world again and eventually destroy its own host. Cutting off its own source of magic and returning back to its 100 year slumber. Waiting for another Alchemist, who is foolish enough to gain it’s mystical powers for only a short period of time.

Knowing this, he stood in front of the great beast and gave himself to it in exchange for the people’s safety. He spoke to the divine beast with great wisdom, and said let these people go free, let them live their lives however they may choose and take me instead. With tears falling upon his son’s own eyes as he had watched his father commit a noble sacrifice, Prince Carmelo Jr. quickly ran to his father with plea. No father, don’t leave us, please! He tried to stop him from making this sacrifice but he told his youngest son, don’t worry about me boy with a chuckle deep in his smile.

I’ll be fine, take care of your mother for me and be a good boy to your older brother. At the last second Prince Carmelo’s Jr grabbed his father and begged him to stop what he is doing, but sadly it was too late the sacrifice was done and the entire temple shook with a blow bringing down the entire structure and with his older brother as he stood there yelled, come on let’s go! This place is falling apart!’.

Years later after the death of their father, his older brother Prince Spaniard left Fall Village to pursue his own life and Prince Carmelo’s took over his father’s throne, calling his older brother a trader for leaving the order but Prince Spaniard knew it was not safe to be there anymore. Certainly not with Prince Carmelo’s endangering the lives of citizens with crimes of bribery and treason.

With the Divine creature finally at rest Prince Spaniard knew it was only a matter of time before his young brother’s curiosity would try to find a way to awake the dragon again to gain its divine power he so desperately pursued to get his father back.
