He's Probably Not a Victoria's Secret Fan

A.N. They're in college

Nora looked over at her friend in scrutiny.

She had met up with Finley at Starbucks with the full intent to buy a drink, wait for Alejandro, and take the subway to school together like they did almost every morning. However, it seemed as if Finley had other plans today

Nora watched her friend furiously write something that looks like a letter, completely disregarding the drink that she had just placed in front of her. Every once in awhile Finley would laugh out loud, something Nora found slightly odd.

“What the heck are you doing?”

Finley looked up from her writing with a satisfied smirk on her face. “What do you think i’m doing?”

Nora looked down at the paper she was writing on.

The paper itself wasn’t surprising. It was, most likely, the back of an overdue homework assignment that she had dug out from the bottom of her bag. The purple marker that she was using to write on was probably a teacher's so that was completely normal. It was just seven words, out of many, that had caught her eye.

Nora leaned across the table and grabbed the paper from her, ignoring Finley’s futile protests.

“Finley.” She deadpanned, “Did you just write: ‘Don’t get your boxers in a bunch’?”

Finley rolled her eyes at a dumbstruck Nora and quickly snatched the paper back from her. “I can’t say ‘panties in a twist’ because I’m pretty sure he doesn’t wear women's underwear.”

Finley scoffed as Nora rolled her eyes at her. “Come on. Have you ever seen him at Victoria’s Secret?”

Suddenly, Nora felt someone slide into the booth they were sharing.

“Is Finley writing a letter to Luca?”

Nora looked up to see their friend Alejandro with his arm casually hung around Finley’s shoulders as he took a swing of her drink. Despite his scrawny, fedora-and-finger-less-glove beginnings, puberty hit him like a truck and left him one of the most fantasized guys in school.

Finley moved some of her flaming red hair out of her face and smiled evilly at Alejandro. “Someone has to put effort into Nora’s relationship to make it work.”

Nora playfully glared at her. “I’m trying. But Luca already said that he wasn’t ready for a relationship.”

Finley smirked at her. “That’s why I’m going to find a way to slip this into his bag. You know, to speed up the process.”

Alejandro grinned as got away with drinking more of Finley’s latte. “I’ll take a creepy stalker picture of his reaction and send it to you.”

Nora threw her hands up in defeat. “I can’t win.”

She watched as Finley attempted to finish the letter while playfully bantering with Alejandro.

Sadly, she knew it was time to go when her brother walked in. In fact, Nora didn’t even have to look up to know it was him. The girls at the next table were practically swooning as he walked by, whispering things that she really did not want to hear. Kaden’s shadow soon loomed over them. She looked up to see his jaw taunt as he ran his fingers through his messy platinum blonde hair, a shade identical to hers. “Nora, come on. We’re running late.”

She huffed childishly, making him even more annoyed. “Kaden it’s 6:54. We're fine.”

His blue eyes flashed with annoyance. “Didn’t you say that you had to do something?”

Nora shook her head. “I said that I had to help Finley with something. After school.”

Kaden glared at her. “So, I woke up this early for nothing?”

Finley chose this time to make her presence known and gasped dramatically. “Nora Elliott Jamison, what have you done?” That mischievous glint in her eyes could mean anything but good. “You have awaken the princess from her oh-so-important beauty rest!” She turned and faux whispered to Alejandro “She’s not as beautiful if she doesn’t get her sleep.”

She then sent a wink at an annoyed Kaden. “But don’t fret too much sweetheart. You’re still a ten in my eyes.”

If looks could kill, Finley would have been ashes on the floor as Kaden sent his mirth-filled glare directly at her. However she stood her ground flashing him her best smile as they continued to have their standoff.

Nora rolled her eyes and stood up, grabbing her bag from the floor. “Come on guys, we still have to find Shree. We won’t have enough time to if you guys to keep acting like five year old's.”

Kaden and Finley reluctantly broke their stare. “She started it.” Kaden murmured under his breath.

Finley gaped at him. “No, I didn’t!”

Nora hit her head on Alejandro’s shoulder as they continued bantering. “Why can’t we go back to the days where they barely even knew each other?”

Alejandro cringed, trying to supress the flood of awkward memories. “Let’s not dwell on the past.”

Kaden grabbed Finley’s latte out of her hands, drank the rest of it, and threw it away.

Nora narrowed her eyes, slightly bewildered. “Does nobody care about germs anymore?”

Finley glared at Kaden, completely ignoring Nora. “You owe me a new one.”

Kaden opened his mouth to protest before a cold smirk took its place. Nora could almost see the light bulb turn on above his head. “Sure thing, Princess.”

Finley looked at him incredulously. “Just go get me my drink.”

Kaden narrowed his eyes at her and took out his wallet. “Fine.”

Satisfied with his answer, Finley went back to finishing the letter that she had completely disregarded when arguing with Kaden.

Nora watched as her brother walked up and exchanged a few words with the barista who in turn, giggled and nodded.

Nora elbowed Alejandro in the stomach.

He inhaled sharply and frowned at Nora, rubbing at the almost nonexistent bruise.“What was that for?”

She pointed to Kaden. “He’s planning something. What is it?”

Alejandro looked at Kaden to Finley and then back to Nora. “How am I supposed to know.”

Nora frowned. “You’re a guy. I thought you were supposed to know these things?”

Alejandro sighed dramatically and looked back at Kaden, who was now flirting with the gaggle of girls at the table next to them. “He probably did something to rile up Finley again.”

Nora hit her head on Alejandro’s shoulder. “When will they ever stop?”

Alejandro scoffed. “Why do you still have hope that they will?”

Nora pondered over that for a moment. “Touché.”

A few minutes later the same barista her idiotic brother was scheming with, yelled: “Mrs. Kaden Jamison.”

Finley’s head instantly shot up, her mouth turned into a snarl. “I’m going to kill him.”

And in that moment, Nora knew Shree was going to kill them for be late. Again.
