Venom & Innocence

Cobra (December 21)

“She’s probably just hungry, boss. Women tend to get mad when they’re hungry,” one of my men said.

“Does it fucking look like I care if she’s hungry, Alfio?” I replied irritatedly, followed by a long drag of my cigar. “Just shut the bitch up, already! I hate squealers.”

“Someone will get you a hundred times worse for this! You’ll be begging God for mercy!” The woman belted as she tried to free herself from the chains.

My smirk was obvious. Little did she know I was the one that everyone feared. I’m the one that makes these pussies piss their pants. I’m one with the punches that hurt more than bullets. My hands are coated with my enemies blood every single night.

I’m the fucking Cobra. Strike first, strike hard. No mercy.

My laugh echoed in the darkroom, grabbing the attention of my men. They stood silently waiting for something to happen. I lifted myself up from my chair and stalked towards the woman on the floor with only her underwear on. I slapped her roughly across the face and grabbed her throat tightly. She looked at me, giving me those helpless eyes, those victim eyes, that cry for help from one human to another. Her whimpers and cries were music to my ears, the newly sliced lip dripping blood giving me the pleasure of dominance. I gave her a mocked look of sympathy and raised an eyebrow.

“Please, let me go,” she forced out. “I’m sorry.”

“What did you say, whore? Something about begging for mercy, right?” I smirked and let go of the woman’s throat. I squatted down in front of her. The fear in her eyes was such a beautiful sight.

“The only one begging for mercy will be you. I own you,” I sneered. I got up from my squat position and wiped the blood off my hand. “Alfio, take her to the warehouse and make sure she’s ready for the buyers.”

“B-boss, where is the w-warehouse?” He asked pathetically. I saw the fear in his eyes. What a pathetic little shit.

That said it all, he was a pussy. The fear in his eyes, the stutter, not only that but he was a twig. Alfio didn’t belong here, he didn’t meet my standards, nor the ruthlessness I needed in my men. Regardless, I hated when people questioned me. I drew the gun that was tucked under my suit jacket and twirled it in between my fingers. “Tsk, tsk, tsk. I hate it when people ask me stupid questions and I hate it, even more, when they stutter while doing so.”

“B-boss, please don’t do this. I can do this-” I cut him off with two bullets to his throat. Alfio’s body fell flawlessly to the floor, blood spilling everywhere. A work of art.

I sighed and glanced at my men who stood silently, eyeing the beast in my hand, cautious of what I do next.

“How unfortunate,” I said with a smirk and tucked my gun back under the suit jacket. I began to walk out and looked over my shoulder. “Elliot, take her to the warehouse and make sure to doll her up for the buyers.”

I got into my Mercedes and told my driver to take me back to my estate. I called my kidnappers that I had hired and told them I needed more women. More women, more business. It only took horny men and the alluring physique of women for the lavish life I’m living. Drugs, clubs, hotels were just side business. Yes, they gave me money, but I wanted more – I needed more.

After all, empires aren’t built in one day.

Vincent (December 22)

“Commander, the boss is calling!” I heard my agent—Lance—call out as he caught up with me. He stood in front me –breathless and defeated. “It’s urgent.”

I didn’t bother questioning, Lance’s eyes said it all. Something had happened, something bad. I hastily turned around and began speed walking through the halls of the E.D.O and made my way to the meeting room. Boss never called, unless it was the first of every month to settle what jobs the Commanders had to get done or something terrible had happened. And it wasn’t the first of the month.

I swung open the doors of the meeting room and saw my boss pacing back and forth on the large, video call screen.

“Boss, what’s happened?” I called out.

“Vincent, sixty-six more,” he said with his head in his hands.

That’s all he had to say and I knew what had happened. Sixty-six more innocent women were kidnapped, held captive against their will, and sold. The thought made me angry – no, indignant. Anger consuming me, I slammed my fist against the table.

Cobra had been kidnapping women for months, now. It had made life a living hell. We had to stop this, but no one knew how. Cobra was anonymous – no name, no face, no trace. Nothing.

“You need to stop this, Vince. I trust you, I know you can do this. Do whatever you have to do to take Cobra down.”

Take Cobra down.

The words replayed my head like an inevitable chant. This was my mission to complete, Boss had trusted me to save these women and bring them justice. And until my death, I would.

“I will not you let down,” I said with promise hinted in my voice. “I won’t let those innocent women down.” With that, I ended the call with only one motive—one mission—in my mind. Take down Cobra. “Lance, get Claudia in my office, now.” I ordered.

“Right away, Commander.” Lance said before he ran down the hall.

I leaned back in my office chair and loosened the black tie around my neck. I closed my eyes to focus on the quietness and gathered my thoughts. I knew my mission, but the question was how.

How do you take down Cobra, Vincent?

My office door opened, snapping me out of my thoughts. I saw the blonde peep through the door and smile. Her smile dropped as soon as she saw my despondency. “Is everything okay, Vince?” She asked worriedly.

“I need your help, Claudia.” I sighed as I massaged my head. “How do I stop someone who has no name, no face, no trace? These innocent women are in danger and I don’t know how to save them. But I won’t stop until I do, I gave my word.”

“How about a hacker?” Claudia suggested.

“We have a hacker guy here-” I was cut off before I could finish.

“Not just any hacker, Vince. A hacker that is creative, someone who won’t mind breaking the rules, someone who knows more than they’re supposed to. Not just some person who knows how to get names or addresses, but the whole damn report. They have to speak fluent tech. Someone who is fast,” Claudia suggested.

“Anything it takes,” I said as the realization hits me. “We need people from the outside. Reckless, but won’t cross the limit.”

“We need a team,” Claudia insisted.

As soon as I got the assurance I needed, I felt more lively. The mission seemed more feasible. I got up and made my way over to Claudia. “We also need a distraction. Someone who is a mortal danger to all men. Someone that possesses the charm that she’s not even aware of. Her main goal: seduce and destroy.”

Claudia smirked. “Last but not least, we need a leader. Someone who knows what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. Someone who knows the plan inside out and knows how to get the mission done. They need to be calculating, spitfire, and nothing should them.”

“Most importantly, these people need to know how to kick some ass.” I walked over to the pictures of old agents on the wall and stared at them.

I felt Claudia’s presence behind me as she also stared at the pictures of old agents in front of me. These people were heroes, who died to keep innocence away from the poison. The same poison Cobra was releasing into the society. “Where will you find these people, Vincent?” Claudia asked.

“Don’t worry yourself, Claudia,” I say as I smiled at the three different photos.

I looked over my shoulder. “Say, Claudia?”

“Hmmm?” she replied.

“Do you believe in Angels?”
