Dark Fae
There was a young girl about the age of eight playing in the meadow, picking flowers and singing to the little creatures running around since winter was about to hit. She had on a blue mask that covered half of her face, no one knew what she looked like yet no one dared to walk up to her and ask. Her name was Callisto Shalyn Addams, her parents were one of the few strongest fae to be alive and that trait had passed down to her as well. Her parents feared for her life, elemental fae were of only a few of a kind, her twin managed to escape the threats as she had gained power of the spring fae, simply controlling things of spring. Callisto.. let's call her Cade, liked to escape from the castle and play in the fields where the flowers grew and the birds sung merry tunes. It was until a dark cloud was casted upon her and the king of the dark fae came out to greet her with his sons. She just ignored them, playing with the little chipmunks and squirrels.
“You there, Who might you be” The dark faes voice thundered causing Cade to straighten up and her loose white knee length dress sway with the wind.
“I am Cade sir” it was a meek reply but a reply nonetheless
“Of what kingdom” The eldest son asked, he looked about 14
“Autumn sir” she looked him in his dark cold eyes as she said this
“You are from a dark kingdom, tell me why you're here… please”
“You don't cower in our presence, you foolish girl. Were the ones who will ask the questions” His harsh tone scared her but she didn't say anything else
“Cade you said yes?”
“Mhmm” she sung
“There is no Cade in the Autumn Kingdom, what is your full name child” his tone softened
“I cannot tell you, it's a secret only the creatures of the forest know” She mumbled
“The younger sons snickered at her reply
“ARE YOU TRYING TO BE SMART WITH ME” he bellowed
“No sir, I speak only what I am told” she whispered, the yelled caused her to tense
The dark fae walked up the her and kneeled, he looked her in the eyes. He could read her, she tried to look away but he grabbed her.
she struggled.
“Stop” she screamed
The boys laughed at her misery, that was until the queen stepped out and glared that the boys were messing with a child.
“Leave the girl alone dear” She had a calming aura to her, she wasn't of a dark descent but a light one.
“Aunty mae?” the youngin whispered
The woman looked startled for a second before she recognized who the young one was. It was the king and queen's daughter, the ones who took her in when she was but a child and looked after her as her own, but they must be too old to have a child. It must have been the princesses, well queen now, she saw the little mark behind her neck to prove to the young girls status.
“Oh Cade is that you?”
“Aunty Mae!” the girl got excited
“Mae get back in the carriage” The dark fae ordered
“Nikolai not now, look at the girl, do you know who she is?” the woman grinned
“Well obviously you know her” The fourteen year old sneered
“Hush Maddox, its Cade, look at how big she got”
“You know her?” the king asked
“This is the granddaughter of the man who took me in when I was her age” Mae smiled at the girl
“Aunty Mae, who are they” Cade whispered
“Cade meet Nikolai my husband and my step children. The oldest is Maddox he's turning sixteen next month, Dominic is fourteen, Ryde and Dmitri are twelve.” She looked at the young girl
“You forgot one” the girl smiled
“Ahh you're correct, you never cease to amaze me Cade, and there's a baby in me whose name will be Flora.”
The young girl grinned “Mom would be happy to see you Aunty Mae”
“I know, but were on a long journey sweetheart, maybe next time.” The woman sighed and rubbed her swollen tummy
The young girl looked at the new faces again, there was darkness in all of their eyes except Maes, she knew that her family was facing a darkness, she just didn't know what.
“Where are you going” still timid the girl asked
“None of your concern” The eldest boy sneered
“I wasn't asking you” Cade spit back
“Cade go home” Mae spoke quietly
The girl saw the clouds darkening, the animals had already ran to hide and the flowers looked like they had closed up.
“You scared my friends away” The girl uttered
“You are a foolish girl for staying” The king grinned an evil smile
“You dont scare me” The girl whispered
“Cade go home now” The woman spoke louder
“Yes Cade go home” his eyes were hypnotising, but did not entrance her like they were supposed to do.
“I'll go home, but leave my family alone” she looked in their eyes
The males snickered
“You can't tell us what to do little girl” The twins giggled
“That means you can't tell me what to do either” The girl grinned
“Have a good journey, I better go before my parents start to worry” The girl turned to walk away before Nikolai grabbed her thin wrist.
“Listen and listen well girl, you will submit to my family, we are stronger than you in many ways, you're just a simple season fairy nothing to be afraid of, but we are dark and cruel fae, we can cause you inexplicable pain within seconds.” The man sneered
“If you wanted to hurt me, you would've done it already, but that doesn't mean you won't. And you won't, not until Aunty Mae gets in the carriage.” The girl uttered
“Ahh a smart child, you're right, we’ll leave, but we’ll be back and you will be a bride” The boys snickered, Mae looked mortified, but the youngin just went home. Not even bothering with the silly boys.
