Red
Blood.
Red.
Those were the only words that kept repeating in my head. I was struggling to breathe. I felt light headed, I felt like I would pass out any time soon.
My chest tightened more and more, with every passing minute.
I kept staring at the red fluid in front of me.
And then, my eyes widened at the source of that fluid
At that instant, all of my thoughts stopped.
All the memories rushed to me. Memories of the person who was lying as still as a dead man in front of me.
He’s saved me before, and now it was time for me to return the favor.
I quickly checked his pulse. It felt faint against my fingers. He was alive. Apart from the immense blood flow, he looked pretty beaten up. I immediately dialed 911 and did the one thing that I could think of to save him.
I tied his bleeding head with the scarf around my neck to reduce the blood flow. I sat down on the floor beside him, placing his head on my lap and silently prayed for the ambulance to arrive soon.
I hoped I could take him to the hospital before it was too late.
