Prologue

“It’s not safe we could get hurt. Listen to me Kas!” The boy whisper yelled as he looked over the forest with a wary eye. “I have a bad feeling about this, I can sense something bad is going to happen.” The boy started to back up but the girl’s hand on his arm kept him from going far.

“That’s the point! What are we if we don’t explore at every sign of danger!” The girl named Kas Exclaimed.

“Safe and alive!” The small boy named Jay whispered yelled as if something would happen if he were to speak any louder.

“Oh, your overreacting.” The Kas said with a smile plastered on her face. She let go of Jay’s arm and sprinted forward into the woods.

Jay followed her hesitantly and cautiously. Kas started to run faster not noticing the pair of eyes following her. Kas didn’t take notice of the darkness that loomed into the forest, she didn’t notice how the sun seemed to fade, she was too young to know the danger. But Jay did.

“Kas watch out!” Jay yelled as a spirit came out from its hiding place. Kas froze in her place as fear and shock ate away at her senses. Jay ran before her blocking the attack with himself. The spirt used a spell that cut through Jay’s clothes and ripped his skin on his chest causing him to fall to the ground.

The spirt turned towards Kas and struck. The girls’ world turned black.

With the world still black, Kas could still hear the soft voices from the other side of the room. Over time the voice seemed to become less frequent and soft. Time passed to the point where the only voice was men talking in hush tones as if they knew if they knew to talk any louder she could hear them.

When she woke up her world changed.
