Rise of the Republic Book 1: The Gaul Wars

Summary

This novel is about the many enemies of Rome, from the rise of the republic to the fall of the empire. This is a Roman point of view of the Gallic war It is the year 54 B.C and Rome is under threat by many Gallic tribes of the Po Valley and the Alps. In 342 B.C the last king of Rome Servius Maximus defeated the Etruscans and drove out the Samnites. Now the Roman emperor Caeser Augustus Superious tasks two of his generals Lucinius Gallus and Marcus Tiberius with one mission to drive the Gauls out of Italy. As soon as as that is accomplished, Superious wants to take the war to the barbarians to end the Gallic raids on Rome once and for all. But he soon dies of old age and the goal passes to his son Caeser Augustus Inferious. The young Inferious knows he must face many Gallic tribes especially the Arverni led by a very powerful warlord named Vercingetorix. Will Inferious conquer Gaul as his father planned or will the Celtic raids on Rome continue.
