Part 1 Katie Cat
Hi, my name is Katrina Smith, or Katie. You may think that I’m a normal 11-year-old, well let me tell you something, I’m not. True, I have 2 best friends, Sora and Bella, 2 parents, who are divorced, but that doesn’t make me normal. My friends are like me, we are like all the people you see on the streets with something to cover up their faces. We are different than all the rest. And on my 11th birthday, my life changed for good.
On my birthday (September 29) I started to notice strange things happening all around me. The first weird thing happened when I was brushing my teeth. Before I tell you what happened, I will tell you what I look like, so you can get a vision of what I look like. I have dark brown hair cut off about an inch after my shoulder. I like to wear sweatshirts and jeans, and I have bright blue eyes. Back to the stories. I took one look at the mirror and dropped my toothbrush. Where did my ears go? In my perfectly normal ears place, Stood two little cat ears. I tried to pry them off my head, but all I got was a bad headache. So on my way to school, I grabbed my Cat-Hat (a hat that has a picture of a cat) and ran out to meet my friends. Sora was a black-haired girl with the fierceness like a hawk and attitude like a panther. [Sorry Sora! GET USED TO IT!!] And Bella is usually quiet, but when It comes to food, she will let out her inner wolf. [Sorry, Bella, but it’s true!!] Anyway, they were sitting against the bench in front of my house. Sora was reading a book calmly while Bella was screaming at her angrily.
“Hey guys,” I said.
“That took you long enough,” Sora complained.
“What are we waiting for? Let’s go to school!” Bella complained. And to school, we went.
As we were walking past the forest, some cats came out of the forest, and I could understand them!!!
“Oh, look,” Said the lady. “There goes the Hybrids again.”
“Oie, there’s a cat one over there! Said Tom.
“Let’s go purr, she might give us food!” Said a tortoiseshell. And that they did. I was so startled that I could really understand cats! Then I fainted, literally.
Suddenly I was in a big tree like the type you would find in a video game.
“Callie,” Said a pretty voice in the shadows. “We picked up some hybrid activity from Bothell, WA.” The figure went out in the light. She had rainbow butterfly wings and stunning leaf dress and she was barefoot, and the strangest thing was her antenna. Resting her head were two huge antennas, which was covered by a big crown, in which was made of leaves.
“It’s a trio, a cat, a wolf, and a hawk. I need you to go capture them and take them back here.” Said the butterfly women.
“Sure thing, Queen Jenna,” Said a voice oddly familiar.
“Now go.” And out of the shadows popped my long-lost sister, Callie, but this time, with cat ears and tail, and with slits instead of pupils. That was when I woke up.
I woke up with a cat licking my face and saying “Please wake up, cat, Please wake up“ over and over again.
“Katie are you ok?” Asked Sora.
“Mostly.” Now she mentioned it, my bum did feel rather painful.
“By the way, have your pupils always been slits?” Asked Bella.
“Err...no. Are they?” I asked.
“Yes,” Sora responded.
“How long were they like this?” I pointed to my non-normal eyes.
“Ever since you passed out.” Sora replied’
“Guys, I want to tell you something,” I said.
“Me too,” said Bella.
“Same.” Sora confesed. They told me that I should be the first to share, so I did. I told them about finding the cat ears to understanding cats.
“Oh, by the way, it’s my birthday.” Bella started to sing happy birthday, and soon we were all singing. As we were ending the second verse, She took off her hat, and the wolf ears will never go away. She told us that when she was 8 she had found her ears were gone, and the wolf ears were in their place. Sora took off her beanie and skirt. In place of her ears were black panther ears. And what surprised me the most was under my skirt, a black cat tail! By the forest,I noticed a flaming red cat with an adorable white bunny by its side. I didn’t pay much attention to them.
“I need to show you something else.” Sora commented. Her cat ears and tail suddenly dissolved and their place now stood 2 fully grown hawk wings. As soon as she did that, she fell on the floor unconscious. Bella did the same. I felt a needle tube thing crash into my skull, and the last thing I saw was my sister, Callie, before my world descending into black nothing.
