Prologue

In the ancient times, a powerful man walked the earth. His name was Aarush, and he was known as the Prince of the Sun. This man was given to people by the Sun Spirit, Aditya. He could control the powers of all fire and healing. Aarush always showed the world kindness and peace to all kinds of people. For centuries, he lived among them, in joy and love. But being the Prince of the Sun had a terrible price, a law he must follow. The Prince could not love a woman, for he was loyal to Aditya. Thus, he would live life without love. If he were to break the law, his powers would be stripped away and he would die a horrible death that was deemed as deserving in Aditya’s eyes. Now Aarush knew the consequences and he followed the law for a very long time. That is, until a beautiful young lady came into his world.

She was from the city Millarzo, one of the biggest cities at that time. It was full of riches for anyone who was brave enough to take it. This lady was named Tessa. She had long, black locks curled down her back with eyes colored as deep as the ocean. Her skin was fair and she was slim, wearing the most beautiful dresses her family could afford.

Although her family lived in Millarzo, her family was indeed on the lower class side. Her father worked day and night to bring in water and food to the home. Her mother worked as an indentured servant for the royal family of Millarzo. She was an only child, desperate for love, for her parents could not give that to her. Tessa lived her days in utter detachment from everything and everyone around her.

The day Aarush found Tessa was the happiest day of his life. They spent countless hours together; sometimes they would be up all night. Aarush knew he was falling in love with her, but he didn't care. He finally knew what love felt like and he was not ready to give that up. They loved each other so much that they were going to get married after two weeks of meeting each other. The parents agreed and the wedding was held with whatever money they had left in their pockets. Aarush was full of joy with his new wife. Together, he thought, they could do anything.

But Aditya knew the whole time. She also knew that Tessa was playing games on him. Tessa was already married to another man named Rei. Rei was the son of the royal family and heir to the throne. In order to survive, Tessa was going to marry him. Tessa knew that Rei loved her, but she wanted to know if he would do anything for her; for example, kill the man she recently married. She also knew that Aarush was the prince of the sun on account of Aarush not keeping his identity a secret. She knew Rei wanted him dead so he could have the throne and not be overruled by the prince.

Aditya tried to warn Aarush, but the prince refused to listen. He claimed he knew Tessa and that she would never do that to him. Aditya did nothing after that. The night after Aarush talked to Aditya, Rei came to Aarush’s home and slit his throat and watched as he bled to death. Then, he burned down the building to show that Aarush killed himself. Of course everyone believed Rei since the man in question was indeed dead. Tessa was overjoyed and married Rei as soon as she could. The two married and lived a good life in the castle, without worries.

Aditya was furious, however. She would have never thought that this civilization would kill a gift that had been given them. She decided to plunge the world in eternal darkness as a punishment. Crops died, animals killed each other, cold days and freezing nights. Aditya vowed that the Royal family of Millarzo will suffer consequences one day. Aditya had not done anything since her vow.

For centuries, Millarzo started to adapt to the darkness. High technology was created to make food, create medicine, make buildings, produce heat and light, and warm clothing. Carriages would roam the roads with buildings stacked stories high. The school was a place of learning all the rich history the city had to offer. Traders would come in from all over the place to catch a glimpse of what the city has become. At that time, the Royal family lived peacefully without harm. Stories of the Prince were passed down from generations. The king at that time, Don, ruled the city with wealth and passion.

One day, however, the sun showed along the horizon, which meant that the Prince of the Sun was reborn. But he wasn't just reborn; he was reborn in Millarzo. He was destined to take what was rightfully his. Don became furious once he heard of the news and tried to find him, but for years he failed.

One mother gave birth to her first son. The couple named him Kase. As soon as he opened his eyes, they knew he was special. He was their bundle of joy that came into the world for them. Kase lived a happy life with his parents. They treated him with a surplus of love and happiness. They were one happy family; and, to them, the couple couldn't have asked for a better son.

On Kase’s 8th birthday, he produced a little bit of fire in his hand. His parents were astounded, for their son was the Prince who was long gone. The news seemed to spread from the neighbors to the rest of the city. When the Royal family heard of this, Don ordered to find the boy and kill him. The couple found out about his plan, and they took Kase to the abandoned mines by the outskirts of the city. The army found them and chased them inside. The mother and father knew what they had to do.
