Convicted

It’s been three days since Yanni's mother's murder. And she doesn't know what to think. She doesn't know what to do anymore. Is my mother's murderer in our midst? Are they going to catch the murderer? She thought of these things as she looked in the mirror at herself.

She frowned at her image in the mirror. She was all dressed up and pretty, but the occasion disarmed the usual surge of joy she would receive from the attire. She's wearing an occasional black bustle dress. With a layered train attached to her lower back, and with her silver/white hair pulled up in a bun, with a silver tiara in front of the bun.

She walked away from the mirror frowning, and over to her closet. opened the grand doors that led to her closet, walked again to the weapons' section and pulled out one medium-sized blade, with it's golden handle, and attached it underneath the dress and onto her legs. You never know if someone is going to ambush the funeral. She thought. She closed the doors to her closet and walked over to the mirror gave herself one final look at the outfit, she was wearing and walked out of the room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

She gave a quick glance at everyone at the funeral. Each family member were in their own group. Her aunts and uncles were clustered together, around the casket. Her cousins were all at the food bar. Her other cousins were talking in chairs.

And everyone was wearing some type of depressing color. Of course, Yanni and her three sisters were wearing all black dresses. Cousins were all wearing white. And aunts and uncles were wearing gray.

The only person not here is her father but he rules the thorns kingdom(opposite of us or evil mutants that want humans to know about us.) And obviously, he doesn't care about Yanni's mother.

Here's the story, he never got along with her mother, so he tried to overtake the kingdom and make the mutants go to war with the humans. However, the queen intervened before he could succeed.

She looked over and sees Aunt Petunia, on her knees crying out loud. Yanni's aunts and Uncles tried to comfort her, but it didn't seem to work. Of course, Aunt Petunia would be crying the most here. She was closest to Yanni's mother than anyone here. It was like they had a link. Every time something was wrong with the kingdom, or Yanni's mother, or one of the queen's children, she would show up out of the random trying to help.

Yanni understands why Aunt Petunia would be like this. She had just lost her best friend. And there's nothing she can do about it.

Yanni was still looking at Aunt Petunia when she heard her name.

"Yanni!"

She turns around to find her cousin Celia walking up to her. Celia's dress was just like Yanni's but white. A bustle dress with a train also attached to her lower back. She walked in front of Yanni and folded her hands, and let them hang.

"Hello, Celia."

"I'm so sorry about your mother. I wish I could do something to help!"

Yanni stares with a blank expression.

"It's fine; everyone has a time when they pass, and it was my mother's turn-" Celia interrupted

"But it wasn't her time to pass though! She was murdered!!!" As she said this, her hands became unfolded, and were now in the air above her head.

"How do you plan on Revenging her!" Celia continued. Realizing her hands, she put them back.

Yanni looked at her plainly.

"Revenge is not an assassin's way!"

Celia looked at Yanni, like she was disappointed. "I totally forgot you were an assassin. However, I do have one question."

I sighed "what is it?"

"Why don't you show emotion in front of your dead mother?"

"Uhm I uhhhh; Sort of don't like to show that kind of stuff in front of the public..."

Yanni was getting uneasy about this subject. She hates talking about her assassin life.

"Why?"

"Uhm you never know if an enemy is here with us? They might see that as a weakness and try to use it against me in combat to slow me down."

"Ah I see..."

Celia changed the subject after seeing how Yanni was getting uncomfortable.

"How's, Layla and all of your sisters?"

"You mean, Layla, Carla, and Mary?"

"Yea, those people!"

Before she could answer Yanni's youngest sibling walked up. Or sister.

"Yanni it's time for the interrogation for the suspects, come on!"

"Excuse me, Celia" she then bowed and walked behind her sister.

Yanni and Layla walked in silence, in the hallway on the way to the court room.

When they got there, there were people already in the seating rows, they walked down the middle aisle between the people in seating rows. Her sister Layla touched Yanni's shoulder and pointed to where the prisoners usually sit. Trying to tell Yanni that's where she is supposed to sit.

Yanni looked at her confused, when she was about to ask what was going on two guards came at her left and right. And seized Yanni, she fought against them tried to wiggle out of their grasp, but they pulled out their weapons and pointed them at Yanni.

She looked at Layla. "w-what's going on?"

"You my older sister, have been caught red handed. We have found evidence that YOU HAVE KILLED MOTHER."

"W-what are you talking about?"

"Computer!"

Yes, my princess?

"Show Yanni the video we caught the night my mother died."

Right away.

A holographic screen appeared before Yanni.

It was Yanni in her assassin's outfit, she was wearing her black tank top, her black shorts, the linen wrap around her legs and arms, and her torn hood, walking up to her mother and then putting the large golden daggers in her chest and in her head, pulling them out and walking away. Out of the room.

The holographic screen then vanished. Her sister was giving Yanni a grin. And then pointed to the council in the stands. And never looked away from Yanni's face

"Soo, now are you convinced?"

they nodded in agreement.

"All of the council, have agreed! Princess Yanni you are hereby convicted of first-degree murder! You will get your punishment after the choosing ritual is over."

Before Yanni could do anything she was knocked out by her sister. And as Layla knocked out Yanni she was smiling bright, as if she had got what she wanted.
