Tough Friendship

Yagari Amaya and Minami Sukui; the two girls couldn't be more different.

Amaya was a tall and well developed teenager, while Sukui was a short and "flat as board" teen. Sukui had struggled to survive all her life; Amaya was lucky to be well protected by her father and several others. Sukui lived most of her like in the streets, running from hunters and vampires alike; Amaya lived a big part of her life in a boarding school in England, surrounded by friends and had a powerful alliance with the vampire nobility. Sukui was raised among beasts and had little education; Amaya had been raised to act like a high society lady and always had her father's support. Sukui was seen by the vampires as someone despicable and by hunters as useless; Amaya was seen by vampires as their Queen and by hunters as a prodigy.

Still, in the midst of so many differences, they had several similarities.

Both girls had vampire blood within them; Amaya had noble blood and Sukui had Pureblood blood. Both were hunters, even if Amaya was more advanced in training. Both were connected with the Kuran family, Amaya by the Blood contract she had with Kaname; Sukui by being one of the Kuran princesses. And more importantly, both were connected with the Kiryu family and both loved Zero.

As both girls sat on the fountain of Cross Academy, Amaya contemplated all of this before finally breaking the silence.

"Ne, Sukui?" – The brunette girl gazed at her.

"What is it, Ama?" – Amaya smiled at the nickname.

"Do you remember when we met again after all those years?" – Sukui snickered.

"Yeah, it seemed like sparks were flaring!" – Once again, the raven haired girl smiled.

"Yes it did. But I think that we evolved, don't you?" – Sukui smiled and nodded.

"Yup. We're now friends." – Amaya smiled as well.

"Good friends." – The other girl nodded.

"Yeah. And you're my new sensei in hunter training." – This made Amaya giggle.

"And you're a good student." – The brunette girl stared attentively at her friend.

"You're being all mushy Ama. What's up?" – The other girl shook her head.

"Nothing, I just…" - Sukui smirked.

"Come on, spit it out!" – Amaya smiled.

"I was just thinking that in the beginning it seemed so unlikely for us to be friends and now… I can't see my life without you, Sukui. You're a great friend of mine." – The brunette girl smiled and hugged her friend.

"Oh, Ama, you're so mushy! But, I like you like that. And you are also a great friend of mine." – Amaya giggled.

"Thank you Sukui. I'm glad that we are friends." – The other girl nodded.

Me too. It was tough in the beginning, but now it's awesome! – Both girls laughed.

Yes, their friendship was hard and tough sometimes, but they were there for each other when needed; they were true friends.
