On The Run
" GET BACK HERE YOU STUPID REBEL!”
I had to bolt, I quickly started to run towards the Forbidden Zone where most of the rebels like me hide. I ran through the opening we opened for later access, hoping the guards didn’t see where I had gotten in. Thankfully they didn’t, I stopped and stood there waiting for them to catch up. They both pulled out their guns and a taser, I looked at them with a wide grin. One of them yelled out to me” GET OUT OF THERE AND WALK SLOWLY OVER TO US.” I looked at them again, slowly walking out of the Forbidden Zone still grinning. One of them pulled the trigger and the bullet came flying at me, but in one swipe with my robotic arm and I had caught the bullet in my hand. I looked up at them, showing the bullet perfectly in my hand. The bullet wasn’t broken or nothing, my robotic arm had no dents in it or anything where the bullet should have hit and gone through. They look at astonishment, then regaining their focus they both put their guns back up. But I had already backed up into the darkness, I was just on the edge where they couldn’t see me, but I could see them clear as day. They started looking around with their flashlights pointing straight at where I was, but they couldn’t see me. The Forbidden Zone has this weird black force field around it, no one could see in. Even if they had a flashlight, but everyone inside the force field could see out. If we didn’t have this force field me and the rebels would be screwed. They would capture us and put us under test and torture until every one of us is a walking zombie.
Once I had seen the guards walk away with their flashlights still out, I walked back only to be meet by the leader. Jake, me and him don’t get along.
“What were you thinking? You could have exposed us!”
“But I didn’t, and for that they didn’t catch me, and they don’t even know where I am at.” I said crossing my arms and putting all my weight on my right foot. He looked at me with an angry look, after a good 5 minutes staring at each other he stormed off. I smirked and started over to my place in the hideout and there was my best friend Lilly, she was trying to hide her laugh, while drawing in her sketchbook.
" What are you snickering about?” I said to her as I was walking up.
" Oh, nothing.” she giggled
" Right, ok. Did you see what happened between Jake and I?”
That broke her, she busted out laughing. I knew that she couldn’t hold it in anymore. I started laughing, until people told us to shut up. We both got close to each other and started to talk about him and who would be a better leader than him.
" You know you should be our leader, you always know what to do and how to outsmart the guards, and you have a robotic arm. I mean a leader with a robotic arm, how cool is that!” she said with excitement.
" That’s never going to happen you know, Jake was a natural born leader not me.”
I heard a noise, and everyone started to run with weapons, me and Lilly quickly glanced at each other and grabbed our weapons that I stole from the guard’s armory and the ancient sword that I had gotten from someone I used to live with, the sword sat on my left hip.
