Chapter 1

I slowly flutter my eyes open, to the awakening darkness and the unpleasant odor. I look next to me and think of me and Makayla when we were kids. We used to play in the pool for hours and hours...that never got old. Mom always told me about the dangers I would face by going inside the cemetery. I think she has only said that because she didn't want me to get constant nightmares from the uncanny aura. I hoped that she, Dad, and Sam are okay. I quivered, the coldness taking advantage of me. I hear the footsteps. My first instinct was to close the top of the coffin.

"Mommm! You told me the grave was dangerous!"

"Sweetie, I know. Ammalie, I wish you were still alive," Mrs. Morris cried out.

"Me too." Sam's eyes glistened sadly, even in the dark midnight sky.

Presently

The image appeared vividly for me. A silver car crashed into my aunt's blue one. It happened all too fast.

I needed comfort, and warmth. I wished Makayla was still alive. I wanted to hug her right now, for I was so scared. Cemeteries make me anxious.

"Those are the graves of the two girls who got into an intense car crash. That looked intense. It was the daughters of the Morris family, right? At least that's what I heard on the state's news."

Now, I didn't appreciate gossiping, but if I was on the news, of course I had to be talked about. Seriously, this kind of thing happens often. Why did my "death" in particular have to be discussed on the news?

I opened the coffin.

Goal: Find family and reunite with them.
