Very Surpised!

"Warning: This review is totally opinionated. Read at your own risk. I picked this book from the “Tease Me” tab on my app. I promise I passed it by like twenty times because the synopsis is way too simple. It doesn’t give anything away. Actually it doesn’t give much at all. But willing to take a shot on the title alone, I downloaded it. This is a story about fame. The struggle to become famous. The struggle to stay famous. What happens after the fame is gone. This is a story about love. The love between a mother and daughter. The love between five friends. The love between a man and a woman. This story is written well, but could use just a bit of help from an editor. I promise the plot is good, though I had some doubts about five chapters in. Yet, I pressed on. Perion (very unusual name, I know), is the lead singer of a four woman band formed while she was still a teenager. A boy Perion hardly knew named Blaine hears them. Blaine was smart enough to know the young girls had talent, and makes himself their manager. The story takes off from there. Pacing sometimes gets in the way early on. Though later, you learn that Perion and her friends young lives don’t make the story. The only significance to their hometown is, it is a place Perion can escape to when necessary. Perion meets her teenage idol, Lein, and things take off. Lein and Perion’s relationship is explosive, though not in the beginning. I will ask you this question. Have you ever wished that you had someone to love you no matter what? There are times in this book that you will want to slap Perion. Well, many times actually. Lein loves her almost unconditionally. Almost unheard of in man woman relationships (totally another subject I won’t go into). Perion does some self-destructive things, but still Lein sticks by her. That I loved about the story. I will say that I was excited, hopeful, angry, sad, and just utterly pissed off all throughout the book. Sometimes I was confused because of the author needing an editor. But that was far and few between. The synopsis of this book is, “The story of a fledgling rock band, and the hand fate deals them.” Would you read that? Normally, I wouldn’t, but again the title is what saved it for me. I had no idea what to expect. I will be honest and say that I didn’t expect to finish this book. The author needs to get serious with their talent, and put their real name on this one. Aside from some simple grammatical errors, and a few brackets and parenthesis where they didn’t have any business being, this is a fantastic story. Read it, and see if you agree. No doubt, you will."
