The cold from the snow lingered outside but the air in the castle's entrance hall was warm and comfortable, and the royal family often spent their evenings watching through massive windowpanes as the stars came to life.
Because of the snow fall in the day, the land of green become white from the snow highlighting the stars in the dark sky of the night. It was a beautiful sight.
But it changes tonight.
In a heartbeat, the shadows were upon the small prince. The princess that seated next to him, pushes the prince behind her. Protecting the young prince with her small stature. Swords flashed. Scream rose.
He heard it first before he felt it. A warm liquid splattered on his face. The Queen's head hang on her neck in a crooked angle. She sat across him lay motionless, eyes wide open and mouth hanging open from screaming, up ahead the Queen a pair of red eyes locked at the young prince. Blood dripping from its mouth as the fangs glimmered.
A vampire.
His pulse pounding. His legs trembling.
"Take your brother and run!" the king shouted at the princess. "Protect him." as he kissed her in the forehead as if to say goodbye. The princess can't help to reach at her fathers hands, "Thank you." she whispered.
Then the vampire began to laugh in joy.
The princess snatched her brother's hand and pulled him toward the small doorway that lead to servants' hall.
They run away and only one survived.
