For a long time, I didn't know how to feel about anything. I would lose myself inside my own head most days...not really interacting with people. The days dragging on did nothing to help me. My mom would always tell me to go out and have fun with friends not really knowing I had none. No one would talk to me at school because I was always so quiet. And when group projects came, no one would rush to my side as they did with others. Lunch was worse only because I had nowhere to sit and just ended up by myself in the corner. As cliche as it sounded, I was the loser at school. Great.
I moved here during the second semester of my tenth grade because my mom's new husband wanted us to enjoy his hometown. They met at some club back in Texas, hooking up afterward. Mom mentioned how she couldn't stop thinking about him. It was nice hearing my mom talk about her love life. After dad died from a car accident, she wasn't the same. Her cheerful happy self...broken and battered. That was five years ago of course. Within those five years, she met Lewis. They got married only after two years of being together. Which brings us back to now, sitting in the back of the classroom. I wouldn't say I hate it here but it's not my favorite place either.
Back to reality, my teacher was just finishing up her last words when the bell rang and most of the kids getting up to leave not really caring she was still talking. She sighed and just looked down upset that her students never listened to her. "Don't worry Miss Sliver, I'm still here," I said. She looked up and smiled a little. "Oh Violet, I'm glad I have one amazing student here at least, too bad you're a senior and will be leaving me soon", she joked. I laughed along with her and said goodbye for the day. She was my favorite teacher out of all of them. Walking into the hallway, I make my way to my locker near the entrance of the school. Looking down, I didn't see the chest that blocked my way and ran into it. Getting knocked onto my ass and letting out a little ouch. "You okay down there pal?", this voice made my heart stop. Making me nervous to even look up to meet the face of the voice. Slowly taking every inch of this stranger's body into my mind to meet the most beautiful bluish-green eyes I've ever seen. His black shaggy hair falling just under his eyebrows, making me gasp with shock. His chest and arms were somewhat full making me visualize what it would be like to be held by them. Quickly as the thought came I squeezed my eyes shut, shaking my head from side to side to stop this thinking. "You sure you're okay?" he asked with a confused voice. Opening my eyes, I stared at him, " Oh, yeah, I'm sorry" I barely could say it loud enough for him to hear it. But with that...I got up quickly and ran off towards my locker down the other side of the school. I needed to get out of here already. Boys make me to nervous.
