Uncle Silas
I get home from my last day at school with a grin. Why, you may ask? I get to travel all the way across country with my best friend, jessy and her brother. He is like 19 so we were set and I just had to grab my bags and go.
When I was walking around the living room I couldn't find my bag. I heard a loud noise behind me on the counter of the kitchen. I jumped on the couch with a yelp. "Mom!?"
It was my mom she slammed her hand on the counter. "What did I tell you yesterday?"
"Dont cry or I will give you a reason to cry about?" We had a fight yesterday and I started to tear up because she brought up my dead father and how he would not be proud of me.
"No, maddie. Your going to your uncle Silas's house remember?" Oh shit! I forgot, he needs me there with him to help him run his school for troubled rich kids. I am supposed to be his assistant for the next 3 months.
"Fuck! When is the bus?" I stand and when I do I notice she had my stuff in her hand the entire time.
She handed me a ticket and smiled. "In about 25 minutes."
"Crap! Can I run to Jessy's house and tell her? I forgot." I ask. I didn't forget just lost track of my brain schedule.
"Yes! By the way I put $63.88 worth of food in that bag. Be back soon for my repay." She says as I close the door. I snicker to myself.
When I get to Jessy's I see her upstairs in her room window. So I climb up the tree outside her window and scoot over on a branch that me and jessy sneak out on almost every night. I knock and I see she is packing.
She opens the window and sighs. "Dont you have that wierd rich school to go to? You can't go can you? " I nod then come up with a brilliant situation.
"But what if you can?" I smile misteviously at her. Her eyes widen then after a few seconds of putting it together, she grins.
Now here we are on the bus with a bunch sweaty humans. As the hours pass the bus starts to clear up. Now alas we were alone waiting for our stop.
When we pulled up I looked at the town sign it quoted 'Now entering Salem, Massachusetts' in green.
I turn towards jessy and point at the sign. "Wierd name, right?" She giggles and I smile at making my best friend happy.
Suddenly the bus comes to a fast hault and I hit my head on the back of the seat in front of me. "Ow!"
Jessy starts laughing like it is the funniest ever. "Stop laughing!" I play hit her arm and then we find ourselves in a game of brutal tag as we get off the bus.
"I'm actually kind of excited." She says as our game does down. We sit on the bus stop's bench and watch as the bus drives off. I get out my phone and call my uncle.
He soon pulls up with a grin. He rolls down the window and looks up at us through the small box. "Hello! Just put your stuff in the back."
We put our stuff in the back of his convertible, he is $loaded$ by the way. One reason I love christmas.
Me and jessy get in and I run my hands along the car. "I love your car." I whisper in astonishment.
"I thought so. I will give it to you when you are old enough." He says with a malicious grin. "Well hello! You must be jessy." He turns and sticks out his hand for her to shake and she does.
"Yes sir, I am. Jessy Dertil."
