Prologue

Lab experiments, what about them? Some of them turn out to be very useful. Others could destroy the earth as we know it. In the year 2645, scientists had been experimenting with a creature they called #759. Unfortunately, it escaped a few days after their first experimentation. This experiment was a mutated creature of extraterrestrial origin which the scientists experimented furthermore. They hadn’t just experimented on this creature, they had mutated every cell in its body.

Now the escaped creature wanted revenge on humankind. No one could’ve been prepared for this creature’s magnitude of wrath. Firstly, this creature was like a virus so it could multiply. Now thousands of creatures swarmed cities, killing millions, leaving no trace of life whatsoever. Within a year, these creatures had reached ten million in population and had left at least half the world in ruins. Africa was the creature’s home. It had a perfect climate and perfect conditions for all their needs. Africa had turned from half desert to a full-fledged wasteland.

The world had entered a panic state, especially Europe and Asia because they were bordering near Africa. The European governments had all people mandatorily evacuate north, where the creatures wouldn’t survive the harsh winters, despite the creatures evolving and adapting at an unprecedented rate. Now, there was a lot of panic. The rich had bunkers built which could last hundreds of years. What about the middle class and the poor? They had no chance of escape. Especially the poor, they didn’t have anything.

By the year 2650, the creatures had a population of fifty million. They were practically unstoppable. They had taken over most of Europe and all of Southeast Asia, and other parts of Asia as well. They also adapted to swim to North America and South America, hitting the coastal cities first. Only a small number of people lived in North and South America.

They had fully taken over twenty percent of the Earth’s population and had been eradicated by the creatures. Thirty-Five percent were inside bunkers across the world. Another twenty percent went to Mars on a colony called Olympus Beta. The rest of the population, which was fifty-thousand, were stranded on Earth. The people stranded stopped trying. They knew they had no hope.

Until, a rich inventor Lloyd Garganoyle invented a machine, which neutralized the creatures for a while. How did it work? That’s a secret he kept to himself and took to the grave. Even though he was safe on Mars, he came back to Earth with volunteers willing to risk their lives to save people. Also, the scientists named the creatures Symbionics.
