Summary

It was James Neil Hollingworth, author and rock band manager, who once said, "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear." I've spent my few years of life pushing away fear and attempting the improbable, I was always considered courageous. Though sometimes it felt more like idiocy. Although society never saw it that way and even went as far as to label me a villain, I was glad I got to spend some of my years taking down bad guys. Despite being surrounded by magic and the impossible, I'm brought to my knees by my own traitorous body. Times get tough and my courage fades... This is the story of how I died.

Prologue

Hoodwinked (verb):

To deceive or trick (someone).

You know the hero of the story? The hot guy from another planet who saves the day by defeating the villain and kissing babies? Well, that's not me.

For one, I'm not a hot guy from another planet. I'm a stubborn and snarky female from good, old, Minnesota. And on top of that, I don't defeat the villain. Mostly because I am the villain.

Why am I a villain, you may ask? Well, that's easy, because society labeled me as such. Because apparently the way I go about things isn't ''lawful'' and a ''disgrace to society''. Eck. Who cares what society thinks, I know what I'm doing is right and the rest of these idiots can-well you know.

In a world full of magical and powerful Reesks-supernatural beings that aren't human or ordinary animals-somehow I'm the bad guy because I steal and sometimes kill.

Just like other villains, though, I eventually meet my defeat. Sadly, my defeat isn't guns-ablazing-glorious. Instead, my own body is what betrays me. On top of committing crimes, my body is a ticking time bomb, waiting to kill me at any time. Cheers to being a dying human surrounded by magic that can't help...
