Life is Over
“I love you.” Said Chuck with a smile across his face. Blair was already gone. She’s a doll. Chuck watched Blair walk swiftly with her usual elegance. One whole year he thought. One whole year he had been married to Blair, conquering the upper east side with their business partners and good friends Serena and Dan. With the thought of business running through Chuck's head he remember the call he had to make. He dialed Dan warily. As usual he never answers his phone. Note to self, Chuck thought. Hire Dan a secretary.
“Dan.” Said Chuck excitingly. “I need you to meet me at the Rockefeller Plaza. Remember to bring your a game. We finally have the crooks where we want them. It's time to take what's ours. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.”
“Get up. Get up. Get up Dan.” Said Serena with an annoyed tone. “I've only tried to get you up four times now.”
“Fine, I'm getting up. But remember I was up the first time I just prefer to lay awhile.” Said Dan.
“Ok sleepyhead.” Serena said with a smile. “But it's already 11 o'clock. You also have a message from Chuck.”
Chuck, Dan thought. What would Chuck want. The Crooke’s deal. How could you forget, thought Dan, shaming himself. Dan put some pants on with a random tie and rushed out the door.
“Bye love, I'll see you later.” Said Dan
“You slacker!” said Chuck. This is such an important deal. You need to be on top of this. Don’t forget it's my reputation on the line. Even if we don’t handle this deal carefully, we will be behind my plan. Remember our goal. Conquer New York. We are one step away from Crook estates selling us their business. Please stay with me, Dan.”
“I am here aren’t I? We've got an hour until the deal. That is all we will need to prepare. Plus, you're a Bass. You don't need anytime to prepare, you came out of the womb knowing how to make business deals.”
“You always have been quite the charmer.” Chuck said with a smile on his face. “Lets go, its time.”
Chuck and Dan entered the Rockefeller Plaza. They met the guards, that chuck seemed to know by name.
“Good morning Mr. Bass.” said the guards.
“Good morning Neily, good morning Juan.” said Chuck.
The guards followed Chuck and Dan into the elevator, standing with impeccable posture. Once they reached the 31st floor the guards escorted Chuck and Dan out.
“Follow us to the conference room.” said Juan. “Dr. Crooke awaits.”
Once they reached the conference room and automatically felt intimidated. The room had a clear view of the city, with a round of table sat at by about 8 bald men.
“Dr. Crooke will be in soon.” said Juan.
Chuck observed the room. He thought as the men as an impressive bunch, but not as impressive as he heard Dr. Crooke to be. Although he had never seen him, he had heard of his many accomplishments. He is a doctor that specializes in genetic research, has won many awards, and his greatest accomplishment, his business. Chuck was eager to meet him. Even though he knew he had to make the greatest impression to buy the business from Crooke.
“Crooke is in.” said an unknown voice. This was the last thing Chuck heard before the consciousness was knocked out of his brain.
