The call of cyber bulling
Every day, I converse with my cousin, Nini baa (elder sister in Assamese), who lives in Assam. We meet online through video calls. One day, my cousin told me that while she was attending her online classes in the morning, her friend called her and said, “Somebody hacked my computer!” I was shocked when I heard that. I asked her, “How did it get hacked?” My cousin explained, “When she opened her computer and signed in, her e-mail account password was not working”. “How did she know that her e-mail account was hacked?” I asked. She said, “I am not sure. Tomorrow, I will ask her and tell you, okay?” “No problem”, I replied.
The following day, we were again on a video call. I immediately asked, “So, how did she know that her e-mail account was hacked?” My cousin explained, “She was trying again and again to log in to her account, but the password did not work at all. So, her father went to the Google e-mail website using his phone and found out that the e-mail account was hacked. “Really?”, I exclaimed. “Yes”, my cousin answered. “Do you know what is this called?”, she asked. “I don’t know”, I replied. “It is called cyberbullying”, she answered just before we were done with the call. I asked my parents about cyberbullying. They said that when a person troubles another person when they meet online, then it is called cyberbullying. They told me to be careful when I attend my online classes.
