Chapter 1
Trees flying by. The feeling of being free. My legs swiftly weaved between the trees. My heart rithumaticaly beating, my feet followed the rhythm and I felt so strong I could concur the whole world. My emotions screamed with happiness. I wish that I could feel free like this forever.
“Time to wake up sleepy head,” my mom softly said as she sat on the side of my bed.
“ you can’t be late for your first day at you new school!” she said cheerfully.
“Ugh,” I groaned loudly while slowly sat up. I got up a bit too quickly and got extremely dizzy.
“Woah there missy! You don’t want to get a concussion before first day,” mom said as she saved me from hitting my head a lamp.
“Are you ok, pumpkin?” Dad asked from the door.
“Yeah, I am fine. Just a little dizziness.”
“Good. Well, I am off to work. A business can run itself,” dad said while leaving the room.
“Well, you better start getting ready,” she said looking around my messy room.
“And clean your room while you’re at it,”
“Fine,” I said with a heavy sigh.
“I will leave you to it,” she said while leaving the room. After I had gotten ready and cleaned my room, I went downstairs to see my sister so hyper it looked like she was about to fall out of her chair.
“Good mornin’ Grace,” I said as I sat down. “Hello!! How are you doing?! Are you ready for school? Are you excited? Are you going to make a lot of friends? Do you even want to make friends? Are you going to get a boyfriend soon? Are you nervous? If so, why?” She asked.
“ Woah, one question at a time. But I don’t have enough time to answer them all so you can pick 1 question,” I said overwhelmed with all the questions. I sat down at the dining table and made myself a bowl of cereal as she thought hard about what questions to ask me. A few minutes later she said, “Ok, I know what question I want to ask. are you nervous?,”
“How long did it take to find that out, genius?” I said sarcastically.
“Geez, no need to be rude. Anyways I am taking that as a yes,” she said slowly comming down from sugar high from the very sugary cereal. The kind that she had was honestly too sweet for me.
“You know eventually that is going to rot your teeth” I said as grace placed her dishes in the sink. She stuck her tongue out at me and walked away to get dressed.
“Kiddo, pack up your backpack and let’s hit the road!” yelled mom from the other room.
“Already done!” I exclaimed while putting my half eaten cereal in the sink. I know it is bad to waste food but what was I going to do. Strain the extremely soggy cereal? Anyways, I got in the car and we were off.
